  1. Results indicate a mechanism of action for neuromedin U (NmU (show NMU Antibodies)) in HER2-overexpressing breast cancer that enhances resistance to HER2-targeted drugs through conferring cancer stem cell (CSC) characteristics and expansion of the CSC phenotype.

  2. the estrogen- (ER), progesterone- (PgR (show PGR Antibodies)) and HER2/neu receptor status of the primary tumor with brain metastases in a series of 24 consecutive breast cancer patients, is reported.

  3. tumor-promoting role for CCL2 acting through CCR2 on the tumor microenvironment

  4. We observed correlations between time to tumor relapse and the magnitude of changes of proliferation, luminal B, or HER2-E signatures in metastatic versus primary disease. Although the intrinsic subtype was largely maintained during metastatic progression, luminal/HER2-negative tumors acquired a luminal B or HER2-E profile during metastatic progression, likely reflecting tumor evolution or acquisition of estrogen independ

  5. Results indicate that p110alpha (show PIK3CA Antibodies) primarily mediates PI3K (show PIK3CA Antibodies)/AKT (show AKT1 Antibodies) signaling in HER2+ PTEN (show PTEN Antibodies) deficient breast tumors whereas p110beta conditionally mediates HER2/PI3K (show PIK3CA Antibodies) signaling in the absence of p110alpha (show PIK3CA Antibodies).

  6. Data indicate that co-inhibition of FGFR1 (show FGFR1 Antibodies) and HER2 or PDGFRalpha led to enhanced drug responses.

  7. Her-2-positive metastatic breast cancers, PTEN (show PTEN Antibodies) positivity was significantly associated with progressive disease, but not with PFS or OS

  8. This study demonstrated that discordance between the HER2 expression of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and that of the primary tumor frequently occurs in early breast cancer. Future follow-up evaluation will assess whether this discrepancy may contribute to trastuzumab resistance.

  9. Increased ezrin (show EZR Antibodies) and HER2 expression in patients with salivary gland carcinomas represents a high-grade histopathological subtype.

  10. our findings identified a subset of EGFR (show EGFR Antibodies) and HER2 exon 20 insertion mutations that are sensitive to existing covalent quinazoline-based EGFR (show EGFR Antibodies)/HER2 inhibitors, with implications for current clinical treatment and next-generation small-molecule inhibitors.

  3. The conjugation of benzylguanine-modified auristatin F to EGFR (show EGFR Antibodies)-specific 425(scFv)-SNAP and HER2-specific alphaHER2(scFv)-SNAP resulted in two potent recombinant antibody-drug conjugates that specifically killed breast cancer cell lines by inducing apoptosis when applied at nanomolar concentrations.

  4. ErbB2 is required for neonatal cardiomyocyte proliferation. ErbB2 conditional knockout heart exhibited an upregulation of negative cell cycle regulators.

  5. Despite previous evidence suggesting that ErbB (show EGFR Antibodies) receptors can bind and activate IRSs, our findings indicate that ErbB2 does not cooperate with the IRS (show IARS Antibodies) pathway in mouse breast cancer model.

  6. It was suggested that transgenic HER-2/neu involves in initiation of malignization of mammary epithelial cells but also in acceleration of age-related hormonal and metabolic changes in turn promoting mammary carcinogenesis

  7. Study showed that suppression of STAT3 (show STAT3 Antibodies), STAT5 (show STAT5A Antibodies), and STAT6 (show STAT6 Antibodies) and overexpression of the proapoptotic factor STAT1 (show STAT1 Antibodies), which provides p53 (show TP53 Antibodies)-mediated apoptosis, are the causes for increasing the number of apoptotic neurons in physiological aging. HER-2 tyrosine kinase receptor (show KDR Antibodies) overexpression promotes neuronal survival through activation of STAT (show STAT1 Antibodies)-signaling pathway with simultaneous suppression of the proapoptotic factor STAT1 (show STAT1 Antibodies)

  8. that myocardial ErbB2 and beta-adrenergic receptors signalling are linked in a feedback loop with beta-adrenergic receptors activation leading to increased ErbB2 expression and activity

  9. Metformin inhibits breast tumor angiogenesis and suggest role of HIF-1alpha (show HIF1A Antibodies)-VEGF (show VEGFA Antibodies) signaling axis in mediating HER2-induced tumor angiogenesis.

HER2 (ERBB2) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

This gene encodes a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor family of receptor tyrosine kinases. This protein has no ligand binding domain of its own and therefore cannot bind growth factors. However, it does bind tightly to other ligand-bound EGF receptor family members to form a heterodimer, stabilizing ligand binding and enhancing kinase-mediated activation of downstream signalling pathways, such as those involving mitogen-activated protein kinase and phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase. Allelic variations at amino acid positions 654 and 655 of isoform a (positions 624 and 625 of isoform b) have been reported, with the most common allele, Ile654/Ile655, shown here. Amplification and/or overexpression of this gene has been reported in numerous cancers, including breast and ovarian tumors. Alternative splicing results in several additional transcript variants, some encoding different isoforms and others that have not been fully characterized.
