Antigen
Alternative Name VEGF-A (VEGFA Antibody Abstract)
Background VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) is a homodimeric, disulfide-linked glycoprotein involved in angiogenesis which promotes tumor progression and metastasis. It exhibits potent mitogenic and permeability inducing properties specific for the vascular endothelium. Of the four isoforms of VEGF, the smaller two, VEGF165 and VEGF121, are secreted proteins and act as diffusible agents, whereas the larger two (VEGF189 and VEGF206) remain cell associated.Synonyms: VEGF, VEGFA, VPF, Vascular endothelial growth factor A, Vascular permeability factor
Gene ID 7422
UniProt P15692
Research Area Cytokines, Growth Factors, Receptors, Immunology, Inflammation, Signaling
Pathways RTK Signaling, Glycosaminoglycan Metabolic Process, Regulation of Cell Size, Tube Formation, Signaling Events mediated by VEGFR1 and VEGFR2, Platelet-derived growth Factor Receptor Signaling, VEGFR1 Specific Signals

Application Notes Immunohistology (Formalin/Paraffin): 1/50 for 30 min. Staining of formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 1 mM EDTA buffer, pH 8.0 for10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive Control: Angiosarcoma.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
