Antigen
Alternative Name CD80 (CD80 Antibody Abstract)
Background CD80 is a 60 kD single chain type I glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulinsuperfamily, also known as B7-1, B7, and BB1. CD80 is expressed on activated B and Tcells, macrophages and dendritic cells. CD80 binds to CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4).Along with CD86, CD80 plays a critical role in regulation of T cell activation. Theinteraction of CD80 with CD28 provides a potent co-stimulatory signal for T cellactivation through the CD3 complex, while its interaction with CTLA-4 provides inhibitorysignal for T cell activation. Alternate Names: anti-B7-1 antibody, anti-B7 1 antibody, anti-B7 antibody, anti-BB1 antibody.
Gene Symbol: CD80
Gene ID 941
Research Area Stem Cells, Hematopoietic Progenitors, Adaptive Immunity, CD Antigens, Surface Receptors of Immune Cells
Pathways TCR Signaling, Fc-epsilon Receptor Signaling Pathway, EGFR Signaling Pathway, Neurotrophin Signaling Pathway

Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
