Antigen
Alternative Name CD80 (CD80 Antibody Abstract)
Background CD80, also known as B7-1 or BB1, is an antigen that appears on activated B-cells and is the natural ligand of the cell surface protein CD28. CD80/B7 provides an important positive costimulatory signal on interaction with CD28 on resting T-cells. Interaction of B7 with CTLA-4 on recently activated cells can restrict responses of T-cells.
Research Area Stem Cells, Hematopoietic Progenitors, Adaptive Immunity, CD Antigens, Surface Receptors of Immune Cells
Pathways TCR Signaling, Fc-epsilon Receptor Signaling Pathway, EGFR Signaling Pathway, Neurotrophin Signaling Pathway
