Required for the assembly of a functional nuclear pore complex (NPC) on the surface of chromosomes as nuclei form at the end of mitosis.
Showing 10 out of 43 products:
The nuclear processes affected by RNA-depletion included ELYS protein (ELYS) recruitment, which accounts for the deficiency in nuclear pore complex assembly.
findings show that mutation of the Elys nucleoporin causes widespread apoptosis in the intestine and other tissues of zebrafish flotte lotte (flo) mutants; data indicate a role for Elys in Mcm2 (show MCM2 Antibodies)-chromatin interactions[elys]
Results suggest that the flo gene product, Elys, is dispensable for maintaining a stem cell-like state, but is important for the transition from proliferation to differentiation.
Elys regulates digestive organ formation
These observations point to a new mechanism regulating the localization of LBR (show LBR Antibodies), which is governed by an ELYS-mediated phosphorylation network.
ELYS/Mel28 plays a role in NE subdomain formation in late mitosis
Results suggets that ELYS is an unexpected member of the nuclear pore and kinetochore that functions in both pore assembly at the nucleus and faithful cell division.
In mice, Elys maintains genome stability in intestinal epithelial progenitor cells, independent of its role in NPC (show NPC1 Antibodies) assembly in zebrafish.
Genomic organization and characterization of the ELYS gene.
ELYS is a critical factor for early mouse development and is essential for the survival of the inner cells
Required for the assembly of a functional nuclear pore complex (NPC) on the surface of chromosomes as nuclei form at the end of mitosis. May initiate NPC assembly by binding to chromatin and recruiting the Nup107-160 subcomplex, which may in turn recruit membrane vesicles containing pom121 and tmem48/ndc1. Association with chromatin may require the presence of the mcm2- mcm7 complex, suggesting a mechanism for coordination of nuclear assembly and the inactivation of replication licensing.
