Forced expression of HP1gamma facilitated axonal and dendritic development, suggesting that the increase of HP1gamma is a rate limiting step in neuronal maturation.
in addition to histones, bacteria control host transcription by modulating the activity of HP1 (show CBX5 ELISA Kits) proteins, with potential implications in transcriptional reprogramming at the mucosal barrier.
MeCP2 binding triggers the loss of HP1gamma at the chromosomal domain and an increased HP1gamma mobility.
Loss of heterochromatin protein 1 gamma reduces the number of primordial germ cells via impaired cell cycle progression in mice.
the role of the HP1gamma/G9a (show EHMT2 ELISA Kits) axis is to retain centromeric regions of unpaired homologous chromosomes in close alignment and facilitate progression of their pairing in early meiotic prophase
identified 4 amino acids (165 to 168) within the chromoshadow domain of Cbx3 that are key elements for Cbx3 interaction with Dia-1 (show CYB5R3 ELISA Kits)- and Cbx3-induced smooth muscle cell differentiation
The Ca2 (show CA2 ELISA Kits)+ channel beta4c subunit interacts with heterochromatin protein 1 gama via a PXVXL binding motif.
Results reveal the role of HP1gamma in ESC self-renewal and in the balance between the pluripotent and the differentiation programs.
Findings demonstrate novel role for HP1gamma in transcription activation.
Pax3 (show PAX3 ELISA Kits) represses transcription through a novel mechanism involving competition between corepressor KAP1 (show TRIM28 ELISA Kits) and the heterochromatin-binding protein HP1gamma
The deletion of CBX3 directly enforces the expression of CDK6 (show CDK6 ELISA Kits) and p21 (show CDKN1A ELISA Kits).
These data indicate that HP1-gamma is a novel epigenetic repressor of epsilon-globin (show HBe1 ELISA Kits) gene expression.
these data underscore the importance of IDRs 1, 2, and 3 in defining the structural and dynamic properties of HP1gamma, discoveries that have both mechanistic and potentially biomedical relevance.
In contrast to HP1alpha (show CBX5 ELISA Kits), HP1gamma could not recognize H3K9me3 in extended nucleosomes.
this study identified miR (show MLXIP ELISA Kits)-30a as a tumor-suppressive microRNA that targets HP1gamma in vitro and in vivo to specifically suppress the growth of colorectal cancer in mouse xenograft models.
BARD1 (show BARD1 ELISA Kits) interacts with H3K9me2 through HP1 (show DEFA1 ELISA Kits) and plays a critical role in retention of a BRCA1/BARD1 (show BARD1 ELISA Kits) complex at the site of DNA damage.
CBX3 and CRABP2 (show CRABP2 ELISA Kits) expression was markedly increased in lung cancer tissues
our data suggested that HP1gamma plays an important role in promoting non-small cell lung cancer
compartmentalized and total HP1gamma protein expression is increased in PCa and that expression correlates with clinical outcomes better than Gleason score.
HP1gamma affects the spontaneous differentiation potential of P19 cells, and might play major roles in the decision of cell fates in pluripotent stem cells.
Dynamic changes of the nuclear-cytoplasmic and subnuclear distribution of members of the Cbx family may be central to the maternal to embryonic transition.
At the nuclear envelope, the nuclear lamina and heterochromatin are adjacent to the inner nuclear membrane. The protein encoded by this gene binds DNA and is a component of heterochromatin. This protein also can bind lamin B receptor, an integral membrane protein found in the inner nuclear membrane. The dual binding functions of the encoded protein may explain the association of heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane. This protein binds histone H3 tails methylated at Lys-9 sites. This protein is also recruited to sites of ultraviolet-induced DNA damage and double-strand breaks. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein but differing in the 5' UTR, have been found for this gene.
