  1. Men and women with higher levels of glycated albumin (GA) were more likely to be old

  2. a high CRP/Alb ratio at POD 14 was an independent prognostic factor for poor overall survival (OS) . CRP/Alb ratio on POD 14 may be a useful prognostic factor in patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) who have undergone curative resections.

  3. Urinary albumin creatinine ratio is a more accurate biomarker of diabetic nephropathy when compared to both NGAL and IL-18.

  4. results reveal that glycation significantly impairs HSA affinity to liraglutide and confirm that glycation contributes to liraglutide's variable therapeutic efficiency, depending on diabetes stage.

  5. Serum albumin levels were negatively correlated with the depressive score of PANSS in patients with schizophrenia.

  6. An early post-operative serum albumin level <32g/L is an independent prognostic factor leading to an unfavorable overall survival.

  7. Data indicate that the high efficiency level of recombinant human serum albumin (rHSA( production lays a solid foundation for its use in industrial production.

  8. Here we showed that the ALBI grade was useful for predicting the prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer. The ALBI score is calculated using only the serum albumin and bilirubin concentrations.

  10. Patients undergoing haemodialysis with a lower albumin level and higher CRP level have an increased risk of peripheral arterial disease.

  11. Sarcopenia is associated with systemic inflammatory response such as high CRP/Alb ratio, while the latter is an independent prognostic marker in patients with esophageal cancer

  12. relatively low serum concentrations of albumin may be an independent risk factor for Mild cognitive impairment in elderly.

  13. Albumin-globulin ratio in combination with CEA provides a more accurate indicator of poor prognosis and early recurrence in rectal carcinoma patients treated with preoperative chemoradiotherapy.

  14. Patients with steroid-refractory GI Acute graft versus host disease had higher fecal calprotectin levels and lower albumin levels than patients with steroid-responsive disease.

  15. Lower serum albumin concentrations in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension are associated with higher mortality and can serve as a marker of disease severity in this patient population.

  16. This meta-analysis suggests that C-reactive protein/albumin ratio (CAR)may be a potential prognostic marker in solid cancers

  17. Thiol/Disuldife homeostasis balance and ischemia-modified albumin levels may be used a biomarker to monitor the tissue ischemia in diabetic mellitus and to discriminate the different stages of diabetic retinopathy.

  19. Serum ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) in addition to the prevalence of small for gestational age (SGA) were significantly increased in the pre-eclampsia group. Cord blood IMA, therefore, might be a predictive biomarker for SGA in pre-eclampsia pregnancies.

  20. By using the fluorescence activatable nanosensor as the structural indicator, the stepwise conformational transitions of HSA during denaturing and the partial refolding of subdomain IIA of HSA were facilely visualized.

Human Serum Albumin (HSA) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein which comprises about one-half of the blood serum protein. Albumin functions primarily as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones and plays a role in stabilizing extracellular fluid volume. Albumin is a globular unglycosylated serum protein of molecular weight 65,000. Albumin is synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin which has an N-terminal peptide that is removed before the nascent protein is released from the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The product, proalbumin, is in turn cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to produce the secreted albumin.
