More Proteins for Nucleolar Protein 1 (NOL1) Interaction Partners

Human Nucleolar Protein 1 (NOL1) interaction partners

  1. NOL1 represents a new route by which telomerase activates transcription of cyclin D1 (show CCND1 Proteins) gene, thus maintaining cell proliferation capacity

  2. p120 (show HNRNPU Proteins) has an rRNA:5-Methylcytosine-Methyltransferase activity.

  3. Findings suggest a newly discovered role of Nop2 in both mature neurons and in cells possibly involved in the regeneration of nervous tissue

Mouse (Murine) Nucleolar Protein 1 (NOL1) interaction partners

  1. results demonstrate that Nop2 is an essential gene for blastocyst formation, and is required for RNA processing and/or stability in vivo during preimplantation embryo development in the mouse.

  2. Findings suggest a newly discovered role of Nop2 in both mature neurons and in cells possibly involved in the regeneration of nervous tissue

  3. Inappropriate expression of the p120 (show CTNND1 Proteins) gene can result in aberrant neutrophil maturation.

Nucleolar Protein 1 (NOL1) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene encodes a member of the evolutionarily conserved NOL1/NOP2/Sun domain family. The encoded protein may function as a DNA methyltransferase in the nucleus. This gene is deleted in Williams syndrome, a multisystem developmental disorder caused by the deletion of contiguous genes at 7q11.23. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
