    Background

In particular, oraganic ion transporter familyis comprised of organic anion transport family (OAT), oraganic cation transport family (OCT),OCTN/carnitine transport family, and OAT are multispecific organic anion transpoters, the substrates ofwhich include a lot of both endogeneous and exogeneous anions.Human organic anion transporter 4 (OAT4) encodes a 550 amino acid residue protein, and is predicted 12putative membrane-spanning protein. OAT4 mediates the high-affinity Na+-independent transport ofesteron sulfate, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) sulfate, and ochratoxin A, p-aminohippurate (PAH).OAT4 is expressed in the kidney and placenta. OAT4 might be responsible for the elimination anddetoxification of harmful anionic sybstances from the fetus.This antidody has been proved to be useful for immunohistochemistry .
