Immunogen
An amino acid sequence from the C-terminal of human Calretinin (2EMNIQQLTNYRKSVMSLAEAGKLYRKDLE) was used as the immunogen for this Calretinin antibody.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the Calretinin antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.\. Western blot: 0.5-1 μg/mL,IHC (Paraffin): 0.5-1 μg/mL
Restrictions
For Research Use only
Buffer
0.5 mg/mL if reconstituted with 0.2 mL sterile DI water
Storage
-20 °C
Storage Comment
After reconstitution, the Calretinin antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4°C. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Calretinin, also known as 29 kDa calbindin, is a vitamin D-dependent calcium-binding protein involved in calcium signaling. In humans, the protein is encoded by the CALB2 gene. This gene encodes an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily. Members of this protein family have six EF-hand domains which bind calcium. Calretinin is mapped to 16q22.2. This protein plays a role in diverse cellular functions, including message targeting and intracellular calcium buffering. It also functions as a modulator of neuronal excitability and is a diagnostic marker for some human diseases, including Hirschsprung disease and some cancers.
