Western Blotting (WB), Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
    Specificity
This antibody detects AKT1/PKB pTyr326. Predicted to cross react with Mouse (100 % Antigen Homology).
    Purification
Protein G Affinity Chromatography. Then, the antibody fraction is peptide affinity purified in a 2-step procedure with control and phosphorylated peptides. The phospho-specific antibody is eluted with high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately, followed by dialysis against PBS.
    Immunogen
This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Y326 of human AKT1.

    Background
AKT1belongs to the protein kinase C superfamily. This kinase is activated bythe Rho family of small G proteins and may mediate the Rho-dependent signaling pathway. This kinase can be activated by phospholipids and by limited proteolysis. The 3-phosphoinositide dependent protein kinase-1 (PDPK1/PDK1) is reported to phosphorylate this kinase, which may mediate insulin signals to the actin cytoskeleton. The proteolytic activation of this kinase by caspase-3 or related proteases during apoptosis suggests its role in signal transduction related to apoptosis.Synonyms: Akt-1, C-AKT, Protein kinase B, RAC-PK-alpha, RAC-alpha serine/threonine-protein kinase
