  • Application Notes
Peptide ELISA: Detection Limit: 1/16000. Western blot: 0.5-1 μg/mL. Approx 24 kDa band observed in Human Pancreas (calculatedMW of 11.4 kDa/10.4 kDa according to NP_665906.1, NP_002122.1). The observed molecularweight corresponds to earlier findings with different antibodies from other commercialsources. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background
HMGA1 (HMGI/Y) is a non-histone protein involved in many cellular processes, including regulation of inducible gene transcription, integration of retroviruses into chromosomes, and the metastatic progression of cancer cells. There are two splice isoforms of HMGA1 - the full length HMGA1a/HMGI and the shortened form HMGA1b/HMGY. The encoded protein preferentially binds to the minor groove of A+T-rich regions in double-stranded DNA. It has little secondary structure in solution but assumes distinct conformations when bound to substrates such as DNA or other proteins. HMGA1 is frequently acetylated and is found in the nucleus. Interacts with HIV-1 pre-integration complex.Synonyms: High mobility group AT-hook protein 1, High mobility group protein A1, High mobility group protein HMG-I/HMG-Y, High mobility group protein R
