    Background
    5',3'-Nucleotidase, mitochondrial, dephosphorylates specifically the 5' and 2'(3')- phosphates of uracil and thymine deoxyribonucleotides, and so protects mitochondrial DNA replication from excess dTTP. Has only marginal activity towards dIMP and dGMP.
