Western Blotting (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Fluorescence Microscopy (FM), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
    Cross-Reactivity
    Human, Mouse (Murine), Rat (Rattus)
    Purification
Anti-Pancortin Antibody was purified by Protein G chromatography. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with Pancortin from Mouse, Human, and Rat based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with Pancortin from other sources has not been determined. Neuroscience research.
    Immunogen

Immunogen: Pancortin Antibody was produced in mice by repeated immunizations raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to an internal region of human pancortin-1.

  • Application Notes

    Immunohistochemistry Dilution: 0.1-1.0 μg/mL

Application Note: Anti-Pancortin Antibody is suitable for use in WB, IHC and IP. Expect a band approximately ~70 kDa (Pancortin-1, Pancortin-3) and ~20 kDa (Pancortin-2 and Pancortin-4) on specific lysates. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.

    Immunoprecipitation Dilution: User Optimized

    Western Blot Dilution: 1 μg/mL

    IF Microscopy Dilution: 1.0-10 μg/mL

  • Target
    Olfactomedin 1 (OLFM1)
    Alternative Name
    Pancortin (OLFM1 Products)
    Background

Synonyms: Noelin, AMY, Noe1, Olfm1, Olfactomedin1, Neuronal olfactomedin-related ER localized protein, Pancortin

Background: Pancortin, a member of a diverse family of secreted glycoproteins, is implicated in the development of the nervous system, and the glaucoma-associated protein myocilin. Studies suggest that Pancortin-2 interact with WAVE1 in a novel cell death cascade in adult, but not embryonic, cerebral cortical neurons. Specifically pancortin-2 is a mediator of ischemia-induced apoptosis of neurons in the adult cerebral cortex, and functions in a novel mitrochondrial/actin associated protein complex that sequesters Bcl-xL. It is also involved in the generation of neural crest cells, and in neurogenesis.
