|Alternative Name||Angiotensinogen (AGT Antibody Abstract)|
|Background||Angiotensin II is a vasopressor and stimulator of aldosterone secretion by the adrenal cortex, and functions also as a neurotransmitter. Angiotensin II is formed by catalytic action of the hydrolase called peptidyl dipeptidase A on C terminal oligopeptide (angiotensin I). In case of the cleavage of angiotensin I to the activated angiotensin II, it is called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE), in case of the cleavage and inactivation of kinins, it is called kininase II (also called dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase I).Synonyms: ANG-2, ANG-II, ANG2, Angiotensin-2, Angiotensin-II|
|Pathways||JAK-STAT Signaling, ACE Inhibitor Pathway, EGFR Signaling Pathway, Peptide Hormone Metabolism, Regulation of Systemic Arterial Blood Pressure by Hormones, Regulation of Lipid Metabolism by PPARalpha, Protein targeting to Nucleus, Feeding Behaviour, Monocarboxylic Acid Catabolic Process, Dicarboxylic Acid Transport, Positive Regulation of Response to DNA Damage Stimulus, Regulation of long-term Neuronal Synaptic Plasticity|
