Anti-HHV-6 IgG Antibody Immunofluorescence Kit
-
- Target
- Anti-Human Herpes Virus (HHV) 6 Antibody
- Reactivity
- Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV)
- Application
- Immunofluorescence (IF)
- Purpose
- anti-HHV-6 IgG – indirect immunofluorescence assay for the detection of IgG antibodies to human herpesvirus type 6 (HHV-6).
- Sample Type
- Serum
- Characteristics
- The kit is intended to the detection of IgG antibodies against HHV-6. The kit potentially can be used for the detection of IgM antibodies, but it does not posses the positive control serum and the corresponding FITC conjugate. The use of this kit is suitable for in vitro diagnosis of diseases caused by or associated with HHV-6 infection. These include the diseases during childhood, such as: exanthema subitum, acute respiratory diseases, febrile diarrheal illness and febrile convulsions; or later in life: heterophilic antibody negative infectious mononucleosis. HHV-6 can induce interstitial pneumonia, encephalitis, hepatitis and bone marrow depression in immunodeficient patients
- Components
- Microscopic test slides coated with HHV6 infected cells, Positive control serum (lyophilized), Negative control serum (lyophilized), FITC-conjugated anti-human IgG antibody in buffer containing Evans blue as a counterstain (lyophilized), Mounting solution
-
- Protocol
- The surface of test slides is coated with T-lymphocyte cells that were infected with HHV-6in vitro. Anti-HHV-6 antibodies, if present in the serum sample, bind to the virus antigens present within the cells and on the cell membranes. Antibodies that do not bind to the antigens are washed away. Those antibodies that formed complexes with the antigens are detected by FITC-labelled antihuman antibodies (FITC conjugate). This FITC label is then visualized using a fluorescence microscope.
