Characteristics |
1. Since applications vary, each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results. 2. Please refer to us for technical protocols. 3. Caution: Sodium azide yields highly toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in plumbing. 4. Source of all serum proteins is from USDA inspected abattoirs located in the United States. |
Purification | The monoclonal antibody was purified from tissue culture supernatant or ascites by affinity chromatography. |

Alternative Name | Bcl-2 (BCL2 Antibody Abstract) |
Background | Human hematopoietic malignancies are often characterized by gene rearrangements which deregulate gene expression. The Bcl-2 gene (B-cell leukemia/lymphoma 2) was discovered by walking the chromosomal breakpoints t(14,18). This gene consists of two exons and several transcripts that encode two different protein products, Bcl-2alpha and Bcl-2beta. Both are approximately 26-30kDa and differ at their C-terminal region. Bcl-2 suppresses programmed cell death (apoptosis) and this property appears to be modulated by homodimerization or association with Bax and Bad, two cell death promoters. This antibody is routinely tested by western blot analysis. |
