Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are calcium dependent zinc-endopeptidases that can degrade extracellular matrices. They are involved in tissue remodeling and play an important role in cell proliferation and migration, differentiation, and apoptosis. Uncontrolled expression and activity on the other hand is documented in various neurological disorders (including Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease), rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer metastases. MMP activity must therefore be tightly regulated by tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMP).
Antibodies-online has added new antibodies against several human MMPs tested for various applications. Please check out these and other products in our catalog and don't hesitate to get in touch with one of our customer service agents if you have any questions.
