Specificity | This antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by Delipidation and Defibrination. Antiserum will specifically react with a 33 kDa cdk2 protein. No reaction was observed against other related cyclin dependent kinases. Cross reactivity with cdk2 from other species may also occur. |

Alternative Name | CDK2 (CDK2 Antibody Abstract) |
Background | Cdk2 is a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is highly similar to the gene products of S. cerevisiae cdc28, and S. pombe cdc2. It is a catalytic subunit of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase complex, whose activity is restricted to the G1-S phase, and is essential for cell cycle G1/S phase transition. This protein associates with and is regulated by the regulatory subunits of the complex including cyclin A or E, CDK inhibitor p21Cip1 (CDKN1A) and p27Kip1 (CDKN1B). Its activity is also regulated by protein phosphorylation. Two alternatively spliced variants and multiple transcription initiation sites of this gene have been reported.Synonyms: Cell division protein kinase 2, Cyclin dependent kinase 2, p33 protein kinase |

Application Notes |
ELISA: 1/10,00-1/5,000. Multiple isoforms as well as phosphorylated forms of Cdk-2 maybe detected by this antibody. Wester Blot: 1/500-1/1,000. Immunoprecipitation: 1/100. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Embedded Sections: 1/200-1/1,000. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
