Recombinant Rat Stromal Cell Derived Factor 1-beta (CXCL12). Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood monocytes using a concentration range of 100.0-150.0 ng/mL.
Please Note: Always centrifuge product before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted with distilled, sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. For further dilution, carrier protein (0.1% BSA or HSA) should be added to avoid loss of bioactivity.
Buffer
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered concentrated protein solution containing 20 mM phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) and 0.15 M NaCl.
Storage
-20 °C
Storage Comment
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
SDF-1 alpha and beta are stromal derived CXC chemokines, and signal through the CXCR4 receptor. SDF-1 alpha and beta chemoattract B and T cells, and have been shown to induce migration of CD34+ stem cells. Additionally, the SDF-1 proteins exert HIV suppressive activity in cells expressing the CXCR4 receptor. Recombinant rat SDF-1 beta is an 8.4 kDa protein containing 72 amino acid residues.
