- Background
- Neurocalcin-delta, also known NCALD, is a member of the neuronal calcium sensor (NCS) family. NCALD is cytosolic at resting calcium levels, however, elevated intracellular calcium levels induce a conformational change that exposes the myristoyl group, resulting in protein association with membranes and partial co-localization with the perinuclear trans-golgi network. This protein is thought to be a regulator of signal transduction by G protein-coupled receptor. Recombinant human NCALD protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Synonyms: Neurocalcin-delta, MGC33870, MGC74858, Neurocalcin delta. NCBI no.: NP_001035720
