    Background
PPP3R2 is a calcium-dependent, calmodulin stimulated serine/threonine protein phosphatase. In eukaryotes, the phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of proteins on serine and threonine residues is an essential means of regulating a broad range of cellular functions including division, homeostasis and apoptosis. In general, the protein phosphatase (PP) holoenzyme is a trimeric complex composed of a regulatory subunit, a variable subunit and a catalytic subunit. Recombinant human PPP3R2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Synonyms: Protein phosphatase 3, regulatory subunit B type 2, PPP3RL. NCBI no.: NP_671709
