  • Target

    PGLYRP1 (Peptidoglycan Recognition Protein 1 (PGLYRP1))

    Alternative Name

    PGLYRP1

    Background

Pattern receptor that binds to murein peptidoglycans (PGN) of Gram-positive bacteria. Has bactericidal activity towards Gram-positive bacteria. May kill Gram-positive bacteria by interfering with peptidoglycan biosynthesis. Binds also to Gram-negative bacteria, and has bacteriostatic activity towards Gram-negative bacteria. Plays a role in innate immunity.[UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Function]

    Molecular Weight

predicted molecular mass of 20.3 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of PGLYRP1-His is 15-25 kDa due to glycosylation.

    UniProt

    O75594

    Pathways

    Activation of Innate immune Response
