|Specificity||Recognizes rat stem cell factor (SCF), a type I transmembrane protein and hematopoietic growth factor which acts in synergy with other growth factors, and signals through the receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit (CD117). The interaction between SCF and c-Kit regulates developmental and functional processes of hematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, melanocytes and germ cells, and plays an important role in follicular development. The interaction between SCF and c-Kit is associated with the progression and invasiveness of some tumors, including melanomas.|
