The mRNA expression levels of DKK-1 (show DKK1 Proteins) binding receptor LRP5 (show LRP5 Proteins)/6 and Krm1 (show KREMEN1 Proteins)/2 in SCs (show TWIST1 Proteins) from patients with MM were significantly higher than those in myeloma cells and in SCs (show TWIST1 Proteins) from healthy donors.
The dysregulated collagen metabolic process, ECM (show MMRN1 Proteins)-receptor interaction and p53 (show TP53 Proteins) signaling pathway may be responsible for impaired fracture healing of osteoporotic Krm2 transgenic mice.
Bone formation was more reduced in Col1a1 (show COL1A1 Proteins)-Krm2 than in Lrp5 (show LRP5 Proteins)-/- mice, whereas osteoclast number was similarly increased in both genotypes in comparison with wild-type mice
effects of Krm2 on bone remodeling
Kremen (show KREMEN1 Proteins) proteins are Dickkopf (show DKK1 Proteins) receptors that regulate Wnt (show WNT2 Proteins)/beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Proteins) signalling.
This gene encodes a high-affinity dickkopf homolog 1 (DKK1) transmembrane receptor. A similar protein in mouse functions interacts with with DKK1 to block wingless (WNT)/beta-catenin signaling. The encoded protein forms a ternary membrane complex with DKK1 and the WNT receptor lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6 (LRP6), and induces rapid endocytosis and removal of LRP6 from the plasma membrane. It contains extracellular kringle, WSC, and CUB domains. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed for this gene.
