Two significant SNPs within IBSP (show IBSP Antibodies), rs1054627 and rs17013181, were associated with BMD (show BEST1 Antibodies) and postmenopausal osteoporosis by the two-stage strategy, and rs17013181 was also significantly associated with serum IBSP (show IBSP Antibodies) levels.
Our results suggest that SSEA (show MPST Antibodies)-4 is a specific cell surface antigen (show CD53 Antibodies) that can be used to identify dental pulp stem cells.
the strong correlation between bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Antibodies) and OPN (show SPP1 Antibodies) and papillary thyroid carcinoma suggests a role for BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) and OPN (show SPP1 Antibodies) in calcification and tumor progression of papillary thyroid carcinoma
oxidized low-density lipoprotein-induced expression dependent on Runx2 (show RUNX2 Antibodies) expression
Bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Antibodies) could be a key mediator of the hypertrophic chondrocytes-induced angiogenesis of osteoarthritis.
Current evidence demonstrates that BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) and OPN (show SPP1 Antibodies), play significant roles in bone metastasis of osteotropic malignancies derived from breast, prostate, lung, thyroid, and multiple myeloma. [review]
High expression of bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Antibodies) in breast neoplasms was associated with cytokeratin (show KRT4 Antibodies)-positive cells in bone marrow, but not with lymph node metastasis.
results indicate that FGF2 (show FGF2 Antibodies) increases BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) transcription by targeting the FRE (show FRZB Antibodies) and AP1 (show FOSB Antibodies) elements in the proximal promoter of the human BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) gene.
BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) silencing decreased the integrin alphavbeta3 (show ITGAV Antibodies) and beta3 levels, in turn inhibiting cell migration and invasion and decreasing the ability of the cells to metastasize to bone.
IBSP (show IBSP Antibodies) mRNA is over expressed in carotid atheroma plaque (3.74 fold, p = 1.41E-09) in an intraindividual comparison.
a bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Antibodies)-null bone microenvironment affects the hematopoietic system both quantitatively and qualitatively
full expression of either OPN (show SPP1 Antibodies) or BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) is necessary for the anabolic effect of PTH (show PTH Antibodies) at least in the ectopic calvaria injection model
BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) plays a non-redundant role in acellular cementum formation, likely involved in initiating mineralization on the root surface. Through its importance to cementum integrity, BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) is essential for periodontal function.
Lack of BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) affects both osteoclast formation and activity.
bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Antibodies) has a role in neoplasm metastasis
BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) gene transcription is autoregulated in part by a positive feedback on its own promoter.
Bsp (show KLK6 Antibodies) mRNA is expressed in developing testis cords and thus may contribute to testis differentiation
BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) contributes to RANKL (show TNFSF11 Antibodies)-mediated bone resorption by inducing osteoclastogenesis and osteoclast survival and decreasing osteoclast apoptosis
Stimulation with EMD (show EMD Antibodies) significantly (P < .01) enhanced mRNA expression of BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) up to 13.9-fold.
studies provided direct evidence for the involvement of covalently bound phosphates on BSP (show KLK6 Antibodies) in receptor mediated "outside-in" signaling via transmembrane tyrosine phosphorylation with concurrent effects on downstream gene expressions
The protein encoded by this gene is a major structural protein of the bone matrix. It constitutes approximately 12% of the noncollagenous proteins in human bone and is synthesized by skeletal-associated cell types, including hypertrophic chondrocytes, osteoblasts, osteocytes, and osteoclasts. The only extraskeletal site of its synthesis is the trophoblast. This protein binds to calcium and hydroxyapatite via its acidic amino acid clusters, and mediates cell attachment through an RGD sequence that recognizes the vitronectin receptor.
