  1. It is one of Ca(2 (show CA2 ELISA Kits)+)-sensing proteins and substantial age- and Alzheimer disease(AD)-related alterations in Ca(2 (show CA2 ELISA Kits)+)-sensing proteins most likely contribute to selective vulnerability of basal forebrain cholinergic neurons to degeneration in AD.

Fruit Fly (Drosophila melanogaster) Calbindin 1, 28kDa (CALB1) interaction partners

  1. findings indicate that Cbp53E plays a significant role in neuronal growth and suggest that it may function in both local synaptic and global cellular mechanisms

Mouse (Murine) Calbindin 1, 28kDa (CALB1) interaction partners

  1. Calbindin D-28k plays an important role in gene expression of distal kidney tubule Ca, but not Mg, transport molecules.

  2. calbindin1 in rat primary islet cells reduced glucose-stimulated insulin (show INS ELISA Kits) secretion (GSIS), and the effect of BMP4 (show BMP4 ELISA Kits) on GSIS was lost in islets from calbindin1 (Calb1) knockout mice

  3. These results indicate that changes of CB protein expression may be associated with no neuronal death in the model of neuroinflammation with systemic administration of 1 mg/kg LPS (show TLR4 ELISA Kits).

  4. Dicer (show DICER1 ELISA Kits) ablation in the early metanephric mesenchyme results in severe renal dysgenesis despite normal initial specification of nephron progenitors and ureteric bud outgrowth.

  5. removal of Calbindin-D28k from amyloid precursor protein (show APP ELISA Kits)/presenilin transgenic mice aggravates Alzheimer disease pathogenesis, suggesting that Calbindin-D28k has a critical role in Alzheimer disease pathogenesis.

  6. EF-hand Ca(2 (show CA2 ELISA Kits)+) buffers regulate presynaptic IHC function for metabolically efficient sound coding.

  7. The number of calbindin-expressing interneurons was maximal in the plate II at all levels of the spinal cord.

  8. Overexpression of CaBP-28 k could provide protection for dopaminergic neurons from neurodegeneration.

  9. A decrease in calbindin D28-k expression is found in the hippocampus of the circling mouse strain, a model of deafness.

  10. Our study provides further evidence for a critical role of CaB (show EIF6 ELISA Kits) in spinocerebellar ataxia (show USP14 ELISA Kits) type 1 pathogenesis, which may help identify new therapeutic targets to treat SCA1 (show ATXN1 ELISA Kits) or other cerebellar ataxias

Human Calbindin 1, 28kDa (CALB1) interaction partners

  1. Increased number of calbindin neurons and fiber labeling both in focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) and non-FCD specimens compared with postmortem controls may be associated with ongoing seizure activity.

  2. The calbindin-D 28k was decreased in the putamen, the dorsal tier of the substantia nigra along the lower border of the red nucleus, and in the cerebellar cortex in multiple system atrophy.

  3. Significantly reduced hippocampal calbindin D28K levels are found in all patients with mitochondrial encephalomyopathy, lactic acidosis and stroke-like syndrome (MELAS).

  4. Data show calbindin (CB)- and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH (show TH ELISA Kits))-cells were distributed in the three striatal territories, and the density of calretinin (CR (show CALB2 ELISA Kits)) and parvalbumin (PV (show PVALB ELISA Kits)) interneurons were more abundant in the associative and sensorimotor striatum.

Antigen Summary

Calbindin is a calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily. It was originally described as a 27-kD protein induced by vitamin D in the duodenum of the chick. In the brain, its synthesis is independent of vitamin-D-derived hormones. Calbindin contains 4 active calcium-binding domains, and 2 modified domains that presumably have lost their calcium-binding capacity. The neurons in brains of patients with Huntington disease are calbindin-depleted.
