Human ELANE Protein expressed in Human - ABIN2544352
Luyendyk, Shaw, Green, Maddox, Ganey, Roth: Coagulation-mediated hypoxia and neutrophil-dependent hepatic injury in rats given lipopolysaccharide and ranitidine. in The Journal of pharmacology and experimental therapeutics 2005
The role of neutrophil elastase in the activation of unfolded protein response effector molecules via PERK (show EIF2AK3 Proteins) and CHOP (show DDIT3 Proteins) is reported.
results suggest activation of elastase in tendinopathy of the long head of the biceps increases the degradation of elastin (show ELN Proteins) to increase the levels of elastase, becoming a vicious cycle to the progressive severity of tendinopathy
Coincubation with the inhibitors, particularly MK0339, promoted cell survival and increased formation of mature neutrophils. These studies suggest that cell-permeable inhibitors of neutrophil elastase show promise as novel therapies for ELANE-associated neutropenia.
Data suggest that neuropilin-1 (NRP1 (show NRP1 Proteins)) functions as a receptor for neutrophil elastase (NE), mediates uptake/absorption of NE, and facilitates cross-presentation of PR1 (show TMEM37 Proteins) (a peptide fragment of NE) in breast cancer cells.
This study proposes that acquisition of CSF3R (show CSF3R Proteins) mutations may represent a mechanism by which myeloid precursor cells carrying the ELANE mutations evade the proapoptotic activity of the Neutrophil Elastase mutants in SCN (show SRI Proteins) patients.
Faecal biomarkers lactoferrin (show LTF Proteins), calprotectin (show S100A8 Proteins), and PMN-elastase were able to distinguish between ulcerative colitis patients with mucosal healing from clinical remission and mild disease, showed significant correlations with endoscopy, and were predictive of a flare.
In conclusion, site-specific CBG (show SERPINA6 Proteins) N-glycosylation regulates the bioavailability of cortisol in inflamed environments by fine-tuning the RCL (show C6orf108 Proteins) proteolysis by endogenous and exogenous elastases.
Although circulating nucleosomes and elastase - alpha 1-antitrypsin (show SERPINA1 Proteins) complexes are at present the best characterized biomarkers for neutrophil extracellular traps formation and neutrophil activation, their lack of association with rs2288904 genotype does not exclude a role for SLC44A2 (show SLC44A2 Proteins) in neutrophil activation (and possibly NET formation) in Venous Thromboembolism.
The levels of both NE and PR3 correlated with absolute neutrophil counts and are reduced in type 1 diabetes mellitus patients.
The results of the present study may indicate that NE activates the phosphoinositide-3 kinase/Akt (show AKT1 Proteins) signaling pathway in leukemia cells to inhibit apoptosis and enhance cell proliferation
Levels of neutrophil elastase (NE) and the nuclear factors CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha (C/EBPalpha (show CEBPA Proteins)) and growth factor-independent 1 (GFI-1) are elevated in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells from high-fat diet (HFD)-fed mice, but mice lacking either NE or C/EBPalpha (show CEBPA Proteins) are resistant to HFD-induced myelopoiesis.
Sivelestat treatment significantly reduced the protein level, neutrophil count, neutrophil elastase activity in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF).
Serine protease (show F2 Proteins) required for resistance to microbial infection; contributes to pathogenessis in endotoxic shock
Neutrophils from neutrophil elastase-deficient mice show no defect in transendothelial migration
results of ultrasound studies using the elastase and AngII apoE (show APOE Proteins) in 4 biomechanical parameters: aneurysm diameter, aneurysm volume, circumferential cyclic strain, and blood flow velocity
Sirtinol is a novel HNE inhibitor and may have the potential for clinical application in the treatment of inflammatory lung diseases.
SerpinA3N (show SERPINA3N Proteins) attenuates neuropathic pain by inhibiting T cell-derived leukocyte elastase
Increased ELANE activity was associated with development of autoimmune diabetes mellitus in NOD mice.
Neutrophil elastase is involved in the induction of microbicidal activities of neutrophils against Trypanosoma cruzi-infected macrophages.
In conclusion, sivelestat reduced radiationinduced lung injury in the mice by suppressing neutrophil elastase activity and excessive inflammatory reactions
Elastases form a subfamily of serine proteases that hydrolyze many proteins in addition to elastin. Humans have six elastase genes which encode the structurally similar proteins. The product of this gene hydrolyzes proteins within specialized neutrophil lysosomes, called azurophil granules, as well as proteins of the extracellular matrix following the protein's release from activated neutrophils. The enzyme may play a role in degenerative and inflammatory diseases by its proteolysis of collagen-IV and elastin of the extracellular matrix. This protein degrades the outer membrane protein A (OmpA) of E. coli as well as the virulence factors of such bacteria as Shigella, Salmonella and Yersinia. Mutations in this gene are associated with cyclic neutropenia and severe congenital neutropenia (SCN). This gene is clustered with other serine protease gene family members, azurocidin 1 and proteinase 3 genes, at chromosome 19pter. All 3 genes are expressed coordinately and their protein products are packaged together into azurophil granules during neutrophil differentiation.
