  1. Apo A (show APOA Proteins)-I and paraoxonase-1 (show PON1 Proteins) levels may be clinically useful for ischemic stroke diagnosis and for differentiating between ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.

  2. PON1 (show PON1 Proteins) overexpression protects against AAA (show APP Proteins) progression by reducing oxidative stress, apoptosis and inflammation

  3. FGF-23 (show FGF23 Proteins) and PON1 (show PON1 Proteins) lactonase have roles in native AV fistula thrombosis in hemodialysis patients

  4. The analysis of this study shows a significant contribution of the rs662 variant of Pon1 (show PON1 Proteins) to ischemic stroke risk

  5. The R allele of the Q192R variant in the paraoxonase-1 (show PON1 Proteins) gene is dose-dependently related to the severity of left ventricular hypertrophy and left ventricular dysfunction and associates with the longitudinal evolution of these cardiac alterations.

  6. The most significant finding of this study is AA allele activity which is low in BC cases was found high. We concluded that decreased AA allele PON1 (show PON1 Proteins) activity might have a relation with BC

  7. PON1 (show PON1 Proteins) activity was lower in Alzheimer's disease patients than controls. There was a negative correlation between PON1 (show PON1 Proteins) activity and carotid plaque in the overall study group.

  8. study demonstrated that the genetic risk for heart diseases is associated with the PON1 (show PON1 Proteins) gene polymorphisms. L55M polymorphism is a risk factor and Q192R polymorphism is protective in certain populations. It is worth noting that the 192Q allele may be a risk factor to develop coronary artery disease

  9. Low expression of PON1 (show PON1 Proteins) is associated with cardiovascular complications.

  10. Studies suggest that paraoxonase 1 (PON1 (show PON1 Proteins)) polymorphisms were associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) risk.

  1. These results indicated that miR (show MLXIP Proteins)-124 could potentially play a role in caveolin-independent vesicle trafficking and modulation of flotillin-2 expression in mouse acrosome biogenesis.

  2. The role of flotillin 1 (show FLOT1 Proteins) and flotillin 2 in regulating amyloid beta production in a mouse model of cerebral amyloidosis, remains unlear.

  3. Curcumin mediates neurite outgrowth through activation of the reggie-1 pathway.

  4. The genetic ablation of flotillin-2 in a mouse model or its knockdown in cultured cells increases extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK (show EPHB2 Proteins)) activation.

  5. upregulation of reggie-1 in mammalian neurons provides nerve cells with neuron-intrinsic properties required for axon growth and successful regeneration

  6. flotillins have a role in NPC1L1 (show NPC1L1 Proteins)-mediated cholesterol uptake and NPC1L1 (show NPC1L1 Proteins)-flotillins-postive cholesterol-enriched membrane microdomains are involved in the mechanism for efficient cholesterol absorption

  7. Data suggest that the association between flotillin 1 (show FLOT1 Proteins)/2 microdomains and cortical cytoskeleton has important functions during neutrophil migration, in uropod formation, and in the regulation of myosin IIa.

  8. Reggie-1/flotillin-2 microdomains form independent of actin

  9. Lipid rafts were affected by both the dose and ratio of the beta-glycosphingolipids and the acyl chain length, and these effects were followed by downstream effects on STAT (show STAT1 Proteins) proteins.

  10. copper modulates flotillin-2 association with cholesterol-rich lipid raft domains, and consequently Abeta (show APP Proteins) synthesis is attenuated via copper-mediated inhibition of APP (show APP Proteins) endocytosis

Flotillin 2 (FLOT2) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

The enzyme encoded by this gene is an arylesterase that mainly hydrolyzes paroxon to produce p-nitrophenol. Paroxon is an organophosphorus anticholinesterase compound that is produced in vivo by oxidation of the insecticide parathion. Polymorphisms in this gene are a risk factor in coronary artery disease. The gene is found in a cluster of three related paraoxonase genes at 7q21.3.
