  1. The association of the GSTM1 null genotype with higher micronucleus frequency observed in our study suggests that GSTM1 may be one of the major determinants of genotoxic risk in individuals exposed to pesticides and may thus be an efficient candidate for a susceptibility biomarker in human biomonitoring studies.

  2. Our results show that melanoma is apparently independent of a genetic lack of GSTM1/GSTT1 (show GSTT1 ELISA Kits)

  3. Genotypic combinations of GSTM1/GSTT1 (show GSTT1 ELISA Kits), rs4646903/rs1048943, and rs1801133/rs1801394 exhibited significant linkage with urothelial bladder carcinoma.

  4. Our results indicated that the GST-null allele (GSTT1 (show GSTT1 ELISA Kits)-null/GSTM1-null) is a risk factor for ESRD and carriers of this allele have high levels of MDA.

  5. study did not find a significant association between GSTM1 genotype distribution and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder

  6. This study evaluated the influence of genetic polymorphism GSTP1 (show GSTP1 ELISA Kits) Ile105Val, GSTM1 (null/non-null) and 2 XRCC1 (show XRCC1 ELISA Kits) polymorphisms (Arg194Trp and Arg399Gln) on the survival of ovarian carcinoma patients treated with chemotherapy. METHODS: 106 patients received treatment with a carboplatin-based or alternative chemotherapy. Polymorphisms were genotyped by pyrosequencing.

  8. The potential association between glutathione S-transferase (GST (show GSTA1 ELISA Kits)) M1, T1, P1 polymorphisms and the risk of oral leukoplakia was analyzed. Glutathione S-transferase (show GSTa2 ELISA Kits) Mu1 (GSTM1) and glutathione S-transferase (show GSTa2 ELISA Kits) T1 (GSTT1 (show GSTT1 ELISA Kits)) null polymorphisms increase the risk of Oral Leukoplakia. The glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1 (show GSTP1 ELISA Kits)) polymorphism did not demonstrate a significant relationship with Oral Leukoplakia risk

GSTM1 Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

Cytosolic and membrane-bound forms of glutathione S-transferase are encoded by two distinct supergene families. At present, eight distinct classes of the soluble cytoplasmic mammalian glutathione S-transferases have been identified: alpha, kappa, mu, omega, pi, sigma, theta and zeta. This gene encodes a glutathione S-transferase that belongs to the mu class. The mu class of enzymes functions in the detoxification of electrophilic compounds, including carcinogens, therapeutic drugs, environmental toxins and products of oxidative stress, by conjugation with glutathione. The genes encoding the mu class of enzymes are organized in a gene cluster on chromosome 1p13.3 and are known to be highly polymorphic. These genetic variations can change an individual's susceptibility to carcinogens and toxins as well as affect the toxicity and efficacy of certain drugs.
