Mouse (Murine) H3 Histone, Family 3B (H3.3B) (H3F3B) interaction partners

  1. In H3f3a (show H3F3A Proteins) and H3f3b (show H3F3A Proteins) null mouse embryonic stem cells, H3.3 deficiency results in reduced levels of H3K9me3 level, H4K20me3 and ATRX (show ATRX Proteins) at the telomeres, accompanied with an increase in telomeric transcription.

  2. histone H3 (show HIST3H3 Proteins) methylation plays a role in T cell differentiation into the natural killer T cell lineage.

  3. H3.3 is a crucial maternal factor (show ZAR1 Proteins) for oocyte reprogramming

  4. Results demonstrate a role for a modifiable residue within a histone-variant-specific context during reprogramming and identifies a novel function for mammalian H3.3 in the initial formation of dsRNA-dependent heterochromatin.

  5. Results support the hypothesis that histone H3.3 (show H3F3A Proteins) is incorporated after disruption of nucleosomes mediated by transcription elongation.

Human H3 Histone, Family 3B (H3.3B) (H3F3B) interaction partners

  1. H3F3A and H3F3B mutation analysis appears to be a highly specific, although less sensitive, diagnostic tool for the distinction of GCTB and chondroblastoma from other giant cell-containing tumors.

  2. A remarkable picture of tumor type specificity for histone H3.3 (show H3F3A Proteins) driver alterations emerges, indicating that histone H3.3 (show H3F3A Proteins) residues, mutations and genes have distinct functions.

  3. DAXX functions as a bona fide histone chaperone involved in the replication-independent deposition of H3.3

H3F3B Protein Profile

Protein Summary

Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units, called nucleosomes. The linker histone, H1, interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in the compaction of chromatin into higher order structures. This gene contains introns and its mRNA is poyadenylated, unlike most histone genes. The protein encoded is a member of the histone H3 family.
