Zebrafish Keratin 5 (KRT5) interaction partners

  1. data show that a cis (show CISH ELISA Kits)-element of the DNA segment in the CKII gene is required for epidermal cell-specific expression of CKII and that a minimal region upstream of the transcription start site is required for this expression restricted to epidermal cells

Human Keratin 5 (KRT5) interaction partners

  1. identification of 29 different mutations in KRT5 and KRT14 (show KRT14 ELISA Kits), 11 of which were novel, in a Polish cohort of epidermolysis bullosa simplex patients

  2. KRT5 protein mutation may predispose to a severe lethal variant of epidermolysis bullosa simplex.

  3. study showed that 34betaE12 is the most appropriate negative marker to combine with alpha-methylacyl coenzyme A racemase (show AMACR ELISA Kits) as a positive marker for the diagnosis of prostate adenocarcinoma[34betaE12]

  4. Different staining patterns can be seen with CK5/6 and p63 (show RPE65 ELISA Kits); however, if they are used together with TTF-1 (show NKX2-1 ELISA Kits) they can be used in subtyping lung neoplasms.

  5. CK5/6 have roles in biologically aggressive tumors likely to display resistance to trastuzumab ab initio in women diagnosed with HER2 (show ERBB2 ELISA Kits)+ cancer

  6. Keratinocytes adhesion and stiffness depends on KRT5 protein missense mutation.

  7. There were differences between CK5/6, p63 (show RPE65 ELISA Kits),CK34betaE12 and TTF-1 (show NKX2-1 ELISA Kits) expression with tumor differentiation in squamous cell carcinoma or adenocarcinomas

  8. in silico analysis of all epidermolysis bullosa simplex causing point mutations on the 2B domain of K5 and K14 (show KRT14 ELISA Kits); result showed all pathogenic point mutations exert their dominant negative effect on the K5/K14 (show KRT14 ELISA Kits) coiled-coil heterodimer complex by altering interchain interaction, leading to changes in stability and assembly competence of the heterodimer complex

  9. CK5/6, IMP3 (show IGF2BP3 ELISA Kits) and TTF1 (show NKX2-1 ELISA Kits) immunostaining appears to be useful to improve the accuracy of cytological diagnoses between reactive mesothelial cells, metastatic adenocarcinoma of lung and non-lung origin in pleural effusion.

  10. immunoreactivity cytokeratin 5 and CD44 (show CD44 ELISA Kits) commonly immunostained Nested/microcystic urothelial carcinoma (US) and some invasive high grade UC

Cow (Bovine) Keratin 5 (KRT5) interaction partners

  1. NMHC IIA may play critical roles in the early trophoblast-derived ectoplacental cone and extraembryonic ectoderm in Keratin 5-Cre transgenic mice.

Mouse (Murine) Keratin 5 (KRT5) interaction partners

  1. Directed expression of a chimeric type II keratin (show KRT80 ELISA Kits) partially rescues keratin 5 (show KRT36 ELISA Kits)-null mice.

  2. NMHC IIA may play critical roles in the early trophoblast-derived ectoplacental cone and extraembryonic ectoderm in Keratin 5 (show KRT36 ELISA Kits)-Cre transgenic mice.

  3. Mice lacking the prostate epithelial AR have increased apoptosis in epithelial CK8 (show KRT8 ELISA Kits)-positive luminal cells and increased proliferation in epithelial CK5-positive basal cells.

  4. The involvement of Hsc70 and Hsp70 in mutant keratin degradation was demonstrated using CHIP-p.Met1_Ala142del (DeltaTPR-CHIP).

  5. p63 (show CKAP4 ELISA Kits) protein is essential for the embryonic development of vibrissae and teeth; while it localizes with K5 in vibrissae, it is not fully colocalized with nuclear Ki67 (show MKI67 ELISA Kits) expression

  6. keratin 5 (show KRT36 ELISA Kits) mutations contribute to epidermolysis bullosa simplex in a mouse model by inducing local inflammation that mediates a stress response

  7. DeltaNp63 alone can restore the expression of the basal keratins and reinitiate the failed epidermal differentiation program in the skin of p63 (show CKAP4 ELISA Kits) null animals.

Keratin 5 (KRT5) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specifically expressed in the basal layer of the epidermis with family member KRT14. Mutations in these genes have been associated with a complex of diseases termed epidermolysis bullosa simplex. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q12-q13.
