Mouse (Murine) Pre-B-Cell Leukemia Homeobox 2 (PBX2) interaction partners

  1. Data have demonstrated the presence of Meis, Pbx, and Prep proteins during early lineage segregation in mammals: Meis1, Meis3, Pbx1, Pbx2, Pbx3, and Prep1 in the mouse.

  2. In compound Pbx1 (show PBX1 Proteins);Pbx2 and Pbx1 (show PBX1 Proteins);Emx2 (show EMX2 Proteins) mutants, pelvic mesenchymal condensation is markedly perturbed, indicative of an upstream control by these homeoproteins.

  3. Despite wide Pbx2 expression, mice homozygous mutant for Pbx2 are born at the expected Mendelian frequencies and exhibit no detectable abnormalities in development and organogenesis or reduction of long-term survival.

  4. Pbx1 (show PBX1 Proteins)/Pbx2 exert a primary hierarchical function on Hox (show MSH2 Proteins) genes, rather than behaving merely as Hox (show MSH2 Proteins) ancillary factors

  5. During pancreatic islet formation, Pax6 (show PAX6 Proteins) expression becomes dependent upon Pbx1 (show PBX1 Proteins) and Pbx2 function.

  6. TALE proteins are critical downstream effectors within an essential homeoprotein network that serves a rate-limiting regulatory role in MLL (show MLL Proteins) leukemogenesis.

  7. Pbx1 (show PBX1 Proteins)/Pbx2 govern axial skeletal development by controlling Polycomb (show CBX2 Proteins) and Hox (show MSH2 Proteins) in mesoderm and Pax1 (show PAX1 Proteins)/Pax9 (show PAX9 Proteins) in sclerotome.

  8. Reduction or absence of Pbx2 or Pbx3 leads to Pbx1 (show PBX1 Proteins) haploinsufficiency and specific malformations that resemble tetralogy of Fallot, overriding aorta with ventricular septal defect, and bicuspid aortic valves.

Human Pre-B-Cell Leukemia Homeobox 2 (PBX2) interaction partners

  1. miR19153p functions as a silencer of apoptosis, which regulates lung cancer apoptosis via targeting DRG2 (show DRG2 Proteins)/PBX2.

  2. findings suggest the disruption of the HOXB7 (show HOXB7 Proteins)/PBX2 complexes, miR (show MLXIP Proteins)-221&222 inhibition or even better their combination, as innovative therapeutic approaches

  3. a high level of PBX2 is a poor prognosticator for disease-free survival and overall survival in gingival squamous cell carcinoma

  4. Pre B cell leukemia homeobox 2 has a role in poor prognosis of gastric adenocarcinoma and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

  5. a PBX2 Regulatory Element PRE-1048 has been identified which contains a novel DNA-binding sequence and mediates significant activation of the HOX11 (show TLX1 Proteins) gene in K562 cells.

  6. these studies demonstrate that the homeodomain proteins, MEIS1 (show MEIS1 Proteins), PBX1B (show PBX1 Proteins), and PBX2, play an important role in megakaryocytic gene expression.

  7. PBX2 increases in F9 teratocarcinoma cells because PREP-1 prevents its degradation

  8. PBX2 expression pattern is similar to HOXA7 (show HOXA7 Proteins) expression in ovarian follicular development

  9. Expression levels of PBX2 and VCP were immunohistochemically examined and compared with each other in 206 non-small cell lung cancer cases

PBX2 Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene encodes a ubiquitously expressed member of the TALE/PBX homeobox family. It was identified by its similarity to a homeobox gene which is involved in t(1\;19) translocation in acute pre-B-cell leukemias. This protein is a transcriptional activator which binds to the TLX1 promoter. The gene is located within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) on chromosome 6.
