Immunogen A 15 amino acid peptide located near human Adiponectin carboxy-terminus
Specificity This antibody recognises an epitope within the C-terminal region (CT) of the 244 amino acid protein Adiponectin.
Purification Affinity Chromatography.
Alternative Name Adiponectin
Background Adiponectin (also known as Acrp30), is a major adipokine secreted into the bloodstream from adipose tissue to modulate metabolism, including glucose regulation and fatty acid catabolism. Unlike most other adipokines, Adiponectin is secreted exclusively by differentiating adipocytes at reduced levels during obesity. The serum level of Adiponectin is inversely correlated with BMI (body mass index) of an individual, and has an anti-inflammatory action, playing an important role in type II diabetes (insulin sensitivity) and atherosclerosis.Synonyms: 30 kDa adipocyte complement-related protein, ACDC, ACRP30, ADIPOQ, APM1, Adipocyte, Adipocyte complement-related 30 kDa protein, Adipose most abundant gene transcript 1 protein, C1q and collagen domain-containing protein, GBP28, Gelatin-binding protein
Gene ID 9370
UniProt Q15848
Research Area Cancer, Atherosclerosis, Metabolism, Hormones
Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on paraffin embedded sections (10 μg/mL, Positive control: rat brain). Western blotting (1.0-2.0 μg/mL, This antibody detects a band of approximately 26.4 kDa in human HL60 cell lysates).
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
