Additional Information
| Alternative name | Adiponectin |
| UniProt | Q15848 |
| Immunogen | A 15 amino acid peptide located near human Adiponectin carboxy-terminus |
| Cross-Reactivity | Human, Mouse (Murine), Rat (Rattus) |
| Description | Adiponectin (also known as Acrp30), is a major adipokine secreted into the bloodstream from adipose tissue to modulate Western blot under reducing conditions (3 µg/lane Apolipoprotein E), this antibody gave a major band at ~30 kDa when used at 1/500-1/1000., including glucose regulation and fatty acid catabolism. Unlike most other adipokines, Adiponectin is secreted exclusively by differentiating adipocytes at reduced levels during obesity. The serum level of Adiponectin is inversely correlated with BMI (body mass index) of an individual, and has an anti-inflammatory action, playing an important role in type II diabetes (insulin sensitivity) and atherosclerosis. |
| Specificity | This antibody recognises an epitope within the C-terminal region (CT) of the 244 amino acid protein Adiponectin. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Immunohistochemistry on paraffin embedded sections (10 ug/ml, Positive control: rat brain). Western blotting (1.0-2.0ug/ml, This antibody detects a band of approximately 26.4kDa in human HL60 cell lysates). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
| Concentration | 1.0 mg/ml |
| Purification | Purified |
| Buffer | Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2 with 0.02% Sodium Azide as preservative |
| Storage | Store the antibody at 2-8°C or at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. This product should be stored undiluted. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: One year from despatch. |
