Background CD61 (beta3 integrin) is a transmembrane glycoprotein, which associates with CD41 or CD51 molecules to form heterodimeric adhesion receptores. CD41/CD61 complex is one of the earliest markers of the megakaryocytic lineage. It binds to fibronectin, fibrinogen and von Willebrand factor, and is involved in platelet aggregation. CD51/CD61 complex has similar binding properties and is involved in modulating migration and survival of angiogenic endothelial cells.

Application Notes The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis of human blood cells using 4 µL reagent / 100 µL of whole blood or 10^6 cells in a suspension. The content of a vial (0.4 mL) is sufficient for 100 tests.

Reconstitution No reconstitution is necessary.
Buffer The reagent is provided in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide and 0.2 % (w/v) high-grade protease free Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as a stabilizing agent.

Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.

Storage Comment Store in the dark at 2-8 °C. Do not use after expiration date stamped on vial label. Short-term exposure to room temperature should not affect the quality of the reagent. However, if reagent is stored under any conditions other than those specified, the conditions must be verified by the user.
