  1. Purified ELK1 and AR bound with a dissociation constant of 1.9 x 10(-8) m A purified mutant ELK1 in which the D-box and DEF motifs were disrupted did not bind AR.

  2. Study identified ELK1 as a novel target for miR (show MLXIP Antibodies)- 150 which is up-regulated in apoptotic human umbilical cord vein endothelial cells.

  3. Study identified a core region encompassing nt - 118 to + 108 of IPO4 (show IPO4 Antibodies) gene that is necessary for its promoter activity. Transcription factors binding to this region were screened, resulting in the identification of two members of the Ets (show ETS1 Antibodies) family, Ets (show ETS1 Antibodies)-like transcription factor-1 (show HNF1A Antibodies) and GA binding protein, which repress or activate its promoter activity, respectively.

  4. High expression of ELK1 is associated with cholangiocarcinoma.

  5. Overexpression of PAD4 (show PADI4 Antibodies) constrains the activity of EMT (show ITK Antibodies) via suppressing Elk1 expression.

  6. These data reveal a novel role for Elk1 regulating ITGB6 expression and highlight how dysregulation of Elk1 can contribute to human disease.

  7. Downregulated expression of transcriptional activator ELK-1 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation.

  8. ELK1 is likely to be activated in prostate cancer cells and promote tumor progression. Furthermore, silodosin that inactivates ELK1 in prostate cancer cells not only inhibits their growth but also enhances the cytotoxic activity of gemcitabine.

  9. results suggest that ELK1 plays an important role in bladder tumorigenesis and cancer progression.

  10. Negative feedback regulation of AXL (show AXL Antibodies) by miR (show MLXIP Antibodies)-34a modulates apoptosis in lung cancer cells by activating the transcription factor ELK1 via the JNK (show MAPK8 Antibodies) signaling pathway.

ELK1 Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, subfamily H. This member is a pore-forming (alpha) subunit. The gene is brain-specific, and located in the neocortex and the striatum. It may be involved in cellular excitability of restricted neurons in the central nervous system.
