More Proteins for EPH Receptor A8 Interaction Partners

Human EPH Receptor A8 (EPHA8) interaction partners

  1. Human miR (show MLXIP Proteins)-10a and EphA8 regulate epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT (show ITK Proteins)) to affect glioma cell migration and invasion.

  2. RINL, as a GEF (show SLC2A4RG Proteins) for Rab5 (show RAB5A Proteins) subfamily, is implicated in the EphA8-degradation pathway via its interaction with odin (show ANKS1A Proteins).

  3. role in stimulated cell migration in presnce of p110 gamma (show PIK3CG Proteins) PI-3 (show PI3 Proteins) kinase

  4. EphA8 receptor is capable of inducing a sustained increase in MAPK (show MAPK1 Proteins) activity, thereby promoting neurite outgrowth in neuronal cells

Mouse (Murine) EPH Receptor A8 (EPHA8) interaction partners

  1. Data suggest that Odin (show ANKS1A Proteins) levels play a critical role in regulating the stability of EphA2 (show EPHA2 Proteins) and A8 in response to ligand stimulation and by modulating the ubiquitination process.

  2. Regulation of EphA8 gene expression is accomplished by TALE homeobox (show PRRX1 Proteins) transcription factors during development of the mesencephalon.

  3. These findings support a possible function for Anks family proteins as scaffolding proteins of the EphA8 signaling pathway.

EPH Receptor A8 (EPHA8) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene encodes a member of the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein-tyrosine kinase family. EPH and EPH-related receptors have been implicated in mediating developmental events, particularly in the nervous system. Receptors in the EPH subfamily typically have a single kinase domain and an extracellular region containing a Cys-rich domain and 2 fibronectin type III repeats. The ephrin receptors are divided into 2 groups based on the similarity of their extracellular domain sequences and their affinities for binding ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands. The protein encoded by this gene functions as a receptor for ephrin A2, A3 and A5 and plays a role in short-range contact-mediated axonal guidance during development of the mammalian nervous system.
