Integrin beta4 contributes to mammary gland development by sustaining PTHrP expression and enabling PTHrP signaling.
keratins have a role in controlling beta4-integrin endocytosis involving a plectin-Erk1/2-dependent mechanism relevant for epidermal differentiation and pathogenesis
Up-regulation of integrin beta4 and TRPV1 (show TRPV1 Proteins) in migrating keratinocytes.
Ectopic induction of Nur77 in endothelial cells is sufficient to improve skin wound healing. Furthermore, TR3/Nur (show AKT1 Proteins)77 regul (show PTK2 Proteins)ates the expre (show NR4A1 Proteins)ssion of integrin beta4 by targeting its promoter (show NR4A1 Proteins) activity.
Col17a1 (show COL17A1 Proteins)/ keratinocytes exhibited increased spreading on laminin 332 and accelerated, but less directed cell motility. These effects were accompanied by increased expression of the integrin subunits beta4 and beta1.
Both annexin A7 (show ANXA7 Proteins) and integrin beta4 were essential for small molecule, 6-amino-2, 3-dihydro-3-hydroxymethyl-1, 4-benzoxazine-induced autophagy.
Findings indicate a function for Id2 in regulating Snai1 (show SNAI1 Proteins)-mediated repression of integrin beta4.
Targeted deletion of the signaling domain of beta4 inhibited prostate tumor growth and progression in response to loss of p53 (show TP53 Proteins) and Rb function in a model of prostate cancer (PB-TAg mice).
Deficiency of integrin alpha(6 (show ITGA6 Proteins))beta(4) is modestly but significantly suppressed reporter-gene transduction by papillomaviruses in conditional integrin beta(4) knockout mice.
Data show that beta4 integrin associates with MMP9 (show MMP9 Proteins) and that its ectodomain is a target for cleavage by MMP9 (show MMP9 Proteins) in vivo under pathological conditions.
Endothelial cell overexpression of mutant ITGB4 with specific tyrosines mutated to phenylalanine (Y1440, Y1526 Y1640, or Y1422) resulted in significantly attenuated CS-induced cytokine expression.
This study describes a pro-metastatic EGFR (show EGFR Proteins)/Src (show SRC Proteins)-dependent beta4 integrin/FAK (show PTK2 Proteins) complex that is involved in breast cancer malignancy and is a novel therapeutic target for triple-negative breast cancer.
These data suggest that the p53 (show TP53 Proteins)(R248) mutant endows ovarian cancer cells with increased adhesiveness and that integrin beta4 and Akt (show AKT1 Proteins) signalling are associated with the mutation-enhanced ovarian cancer-mesothelial cell adhesion.
Changes in beta-integrins gene expression in human prostate cancer cells following ITGB4 knockdown.
PKD2 (show PKD2 Proteins) and RSK1 (show RPS6KA1 Proteins) regulate integrin beta4 phosphorylation at threonine 1736 to stabilize keratinocyte cell adhesion and its hemidesmosomes.
Data indicate that IGF binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3 (show IGFBP3 Proteins)) reduced transcription of a variety of integrins, especially integrin beta4.
integrin alpha6beta4 stimulates invasion by promoting autocrine EGFR (show EGFR Proteins) signaling through transcriptional up-regulation of key EGFR (show EGFR Proteins) family members and by facilitating HGF (show HGF Proteins)-stimulated EGFR (show EGFR Proteins) ligand secretion
Analysis showed that ITGB4 and VCL (show VCL Proteins) were upregulated in exosomes derived from taxane-resistant prostate cancer cells suggesting them as useful markers for progression of prostate cancer associated with taxane-resistance.
Case Report: pyloric atresia-junctional epidermolysis bullosa syndrome with splicing abnormality of ITGB4 due to nucleotide substitutions far from splice site.
ITGB4 stimulation leads to recruitment of 12-LOX (show ALOX12 Proteins) from the cytosol to the membrane.
Integrins are heterodimers comprised of alpha and beta subunits, that are noncovalently associated transmembrane glycoprotein receptors. Different combinations of alpha and beta polypeptides form complexes that vary in their ligand-binding specificities. Integrins mediate cell-matrix or cell-cell adhesion, and transduced signals that regulate gene expression and cell growth. This gene encodes the integrin beta 4 subunit, a receptor for the laminins. This subunit tends to associate with alpha 6 subunit and is likely to play a pivotal role in the biology of invasive carcinoma. Mutations in this gene are associated with epidermolysis bullosa with pyloric atresia. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
