Dmn may play an important role in Drosophila spermiogenesis by affecting transport of many important cytoplasmic materials.
Our results suggest a model whereby endocytic activity recruits Dynein to the oocyte cortex. The motor along with its regulators, Dynactin (show DCTN1 ELISA Kits) and Lis1 (show PAFAH1B1 ELISA Kits), functions to ensure efficient endocytic uptake and maturation.
Altered levels of Cep135 (show CEP135 ELISA Kits) and p50 (show LSP1 ELISA Kits) by RNAi and protein overexpression caused the release of endogenous partner molecules from centrosomes.
This is the first time a haplotype on chromosome 12 containing sequence variants in the genes DCTN2, DNAH10 (show DNAH10 ELISA Kits), LRIG3, and MYO1A (show MYO1A ELISA Kits) has been linked to an inherited neuropathy in humans.
dynamitin is involved in the regulation of Nav1.5 (show SCN5A ELISA Kits) cell-surface density
the determinants of p50 (show CD40 ELISA Kits)/DM required for self-oligomerization of the protein and for interactions with other subunits of the dynactin (show DCTN1 ELISA Kits) complex
Altered levels of Cep135 (show CEP135 ELISA Kits) and p50 (show CD40 ELISA Kits) by RNAi and protein overexpression caused the release of endogenous partner molecules from centrosomes.
the Sec23p component of the COPII complex directly interacts with the dynactin (show DCTN1 ELISA Kits) complex through the carboxy-terminal cargo-binding domain of p150(Glued (show DCTN1 ELISA Kits)).
DCTN2 is required in the earliest stages of peroxisome biogenesis.
study does not support a major role for DCTN2 overexpression in carcinogenesis
Data show how dynamitin's different structural domains contribute to its ability to self-associate, interact with dynactin (show DCTN1 ELISA Kits) and assemble into a complex with its close binding partner, p24.
The interaction between ZW10 (show ZW10 ELISA Kits) and dynamitin showed that the N-terminal region of ZW10 (show ZW10 ELISA Kits) is the major binding site for dynamitin and, like full-length ZW10 (show ZW10 ELISA Kits), could move along microtubules to the centrosomal area in a dynein-dynactin (show DCTN1 ELISA Kits)-dependent manner.
These results indicate that the p50 (show ARHGEF7 ELISA Kits) component of the dynactin (show DCTN1 ELISA Kits) complex is essential for the survival of sensory neurons and the maintenance of ganglion cell axons, and functions as a major determinant of apicobasal polarity in retinal radial glia.
This gene encodes a 50-kD subunit of dynactin, a macromolecular complex consisting of 10-11 subunits ranging in size from 22 to 150 kD. Dynactin binds to both microtubules and cytoplasmic dynein. It is involved in a diverse array of cellular functions, including ER-to-Golgi transport, the centripetal movement of lysosomes and endosomes, spindle formation, chromosome movement, nuclear positioning, and axonogenesis. This subunit is present in 4-5 copies per dynactin molecule. It contains three short alpha-helical coiled-coil domains that may mediate association with self or other dynactin subunits. It may interact directly with the largest subunit (p150) of dynactin and may affix p150 in place. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
