  1. a solution-state model of APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) interaction with its single-stranded DNA substrate obtained with the 'method of small changes', is reported.

  2. exposures to relevant environmental factors might induce APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) or APOBEC3B (show APOBEC3B Proteins) expression above genotoxic levels and initiate tumorigenesis in a tissue-specific manner in the right cellular environment where ssDNA is available

  3. Hyperthermia may induce regression of genital warts via APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) expression in patients diagnosed with genital warts.

  4. APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) proteins were up regulated in genital warts cell cultures taken from patients diagnosed with human papillomavirus infections.

  5. We have demonstrated that the APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) gene of primates displays sequence variation consistent with a role in host defense against a changing pathogen or set of pathogens. Our data suggest that though APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) potently restricts LINE-1 retroelements, the rapid evolution in APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) was likely not driven by LINE-1.

  6. crystal structures of human APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) and a chimera of human APOBEC3B (show APOBEC3B Proteins) and APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins) bound to ssDNA at 3.1-A and 1.7-A resolution, respectively.

  7. By RNA sequencing, we show that specific inhibition of complex II (succinate dehydrogenase (show SDHA Proteins); SDH) by atpenin A5 in normoxic conditions mimics hypoxia and induces hypoxic transcripts as well as APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins)-mediated RNA editing in human monocytes.

  8. The findings demonstrate that DNA replication provides ssDNA substrate that is susceptible to deamination by A3A. Thus, aberrant A3A activity leading to genomic damage may specifically impact rapidly replicating cells

  9. results suggest that the APOBEC3A (show APOBEC3A Proteins)/3B deletion polymorphism is not significantly associated with cancer risk in our study population

  10. Our results suggest that genetic variations in driver and APOBEC3 (show APOBEC3F Proteins) genes were associated with the risk of BC and may have impact on clinical outcome.

  1. mitochondrial OXPHOS function governs the expression of ANGPTL6, which is an essential factor for FGF21 (show FGF21 Proteins) production in adipose tissue and cultured adipocytes.

  2. In addition to pronounced angiogenesis and epidermal hyperplasia, marked enlargement of dermal lymphatic vessels was observed in UV-B-exposed Angptl6/AGF transgenic mice.

  3. we show that (>80%) of the AGF-deficient mice die at about embryonic day 13, while the surviving AGF-deficient mice develop marked obesity, lipid accumulation in skeletal muscle and liver, and insulin (show INS Proteins) resistance accompanied by reduced energy expenditure

  4. Our results strongly suggest that AGF is an integrin ligand as well as a mitogenic growth factor and theoretically participates in cutaneous wound healing in a more complex mechanism.

  5. Activation of an ERK1/2-eNOS (show NOS3 Proteins)-NO pathway is a crucial signaling mechanism by which angiopoietin-related growth factor increases blood flow through induction of angiogenesis and arteriogenesis.

Angiopoietin-Like 6 (ANGPTL6) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene is a member of the cytidine deaminase gene family. It is one of seven related genes or pseudogenes found in a cluster, thought to result from gene duplication, on chromosome 22. Members of the cluster encode proteins that are structurally and functionally related to the C to U RNA-editing cytidine deaminase APOBEC1. The protein encoded by this gene lacks the zinc binding activity of other family members. The protein plays a role in immunity, by restricting transmission of foreign DNA such as viruses. One mechanism of foreign DNA restriction is deamination of foreign double-stranded DNA cytidines to uridines, which leads to DNA degradation. However, other mechanisms are also thought to be involved, as anti-viral effect is not dependent on deaminase activity. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
