High PDGFB expression is associated with gastric cancer.
We observed that regenerating and necrotic muscle fibers in muscle biopsy samples from Duchenne muscular dystrophy (show DMD Proteins) patients expressed PDGF (show PDGFA Proteins)-BB.
Elevated PDGFB (show PDGFB Proteins) expression was noted in 29% of patients with papillary renal cell carcinoma (show MOK Proteins).
Insulin (show INS Proteins) treatment caused sustained Akt (show AKT1 Proteins) activity, whereas EGF (show EGF Proteins) or PDGF (show PDGFA Proteins)-AA promoted transient signaling; PDGF (show PDGFA Proteins)-BB produced sustained responses at higher concentrations.Transient responses to EGF (show EGF Proteins) were caused by negative feedback at the receptor level, as a second treatment yielded minimal responses, whereas parallel exposure to IGF-I (show IGF1 Proteins) caused full Akt (show AKT1 Proteins) activation
high-throughput affinity plasma proteomic profiling is a valuable research strategy to identify potential candidate biomarkers for thrombosis-related disorders, and our study suggests a novel association of PDGFB plasma levels with venous thromboembolism.
High PDGFB expression is associated with glioma.
A cell-autonomous positive-signaling circuit is associated with the PDGF (show PDGFA Proteins)-NO-ID4 (show ID4 Proteins)-regulatory axis in glioblastoma cells.
SphK1 (show SPHK1 Proteins) is regulated by PDGF (show PDGFA Proteins)-BB in pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells via the transcription factor Egr-1 (show EGR1 Proteins), promoting cell proliferation.
PDGF (show PDGFA Proteins)-BB regulates the proliferation and differentiation of human melanocytes in a differentiation-stage-specific manner.
Low concentration of PDGF (show PDGFA Proteins)-AB showed synergism with IFN-alpha (show IFNA Proteins) in IFN-beta (show IFNB1 Proteins) and -gamma induction.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor family. The four members of this family are mitogenic factors for cells of mesenchymal origin and are characterized by a motif of eight cysteines. This gene product can exist either as a homodimer (PDGF-BB) or as a heterodimer with the platelet-derived growth factor alpha polypeptide (PDGF-AB), where the dimers are connected by disulfide bonds. Mutations in this gene are associated with meningioma. Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 22 and 17, at sites where this gene and that for collagen type 1, alpha 1 are located, are associated with a particular type of skin tumor called dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans resulting from unregulated expression of growth factor. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
