Immunogen Recombinant human CD271
Isotype IgG
Specificity This antibody recognises CD271, a transmembrane protein of 70-75kDa, otherwise known as Nerve Growth Factor Receptor (NGFR).
Purification Purified
Alternative Name CD271 / NGFR
Background CD 271 is a pro-apoptotic member of the tumour necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) family and its ligands include NGF, brain derived growth neurotrophic factor (BDNF), NT3 and NT4. CD271 has been shown to interact with tropomyosin-receptor-kinase A (TrkA) forming the high-affinity NGF receptor, while CD271 can signal alone, constituting the low-affinity NGF receptor. When signalling alone, CD271 is involved in apoptosis, neurite outgrowth during development and myelination. Mutations and changes in CD271 expression have been implicated in various pathological diseases including Alzheimer
Alternate names: TNFRSF16, Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 16
Gene ID 4804
NCBI Accession NP_002498.1
UniProt P08138
Research Area Growth Factors, Receptors
Application Notes Western Blot: 1g/ml, detects a band of approximately 75-80kDa in A-20 cell lysate. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
