Human Human Serum Albumin (HSA) interaction partners

  1. use of EPI (show TFPI Antibodies)-X4, a fragment of serum albumin (show ALB Antibodies), as a urinary biomarker for late acute GvHD was shown to be not meaningful in case control studies

  2. serum ALB (show ALB Antibodies) level may be more useful than the degree of fibrosis for the prediction of hepatocellular carcinoma after sustained virological responses in chronic hepatitis C.

  3. Increased Ischemia-modified albumin (show ALB Antibodies) levels and Carotid intima-media thickness may be related to increased oxidative stress and risk of atherosclerosis in individuals with Obstructive sleep apnea.

  4. Peak unbound bilirubin was primarily associated with a decrease in bilirubin albumin (show ALB Antibodies) binding affinity in infants

  5. This meta-analysis showing increased ischaemia-modified albumin (show ALB Antibodies) (IMA) level in both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism patients and its association with thyroid profile suggests that serum IMA could be used as a simple measure of increased oxidative stress in thyroid dysfunction.

  6. The optimal cut-off value was identified to be 45.6 g/L, 26.9 g/L and 1.30 for serum albumin (ALB (show ALB Antibodies)), serum globulin (GLB (show DCXR Antibodies)) and albumin (show ALB Antibodies)/globulin ratio (AGR (show AGRN Antibodies)) in terms of survival, respectively.

  7. Physiological serum copper concentrations found in malignancies cause unfolding induced aggregation of human serum albumin (show ALB Antibodies) in vitro.

  8. the structural homology between HSA (show CD24 Antibodies) and ESA (show FLOT2 Antibodies) is big, their crystal complexes with Myr-2S-cPA (show CPA1 Antibodies) demonstrate significantly different mode of binding of this LPL (show LCP1 Antibodies) analogue. HSA (show CD24 Antibodies) binds three molecules of Myr-2S-cPA (show CPA1 Antibodies), whereas ESA (show FLOT2 Antibodies) only one. Moreover, none of the identified Myr-2S-cPA (show CPA1 Antibodies) binding sites overlap in both albumins

  9. ghrelin (show GHRL Antibodies) binds to serum albumin (show ALB Antibodies) and that this interaction impacts on the biological activity of the hormone.

  10. Higher levels of serum albumin (show ALB Antibodies) are associated with a lower mortality rate in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis.

Human Serum Albumin (HSA) Antigen Profile

Protein Summary

Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein which comprises about one-half of the blood serum protein. Albumin functions primarily as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones and plays a role in stabilizing extracellular fluid volume. Albumin is a globular unglycosylated serum protein of molecular weight 65,000. Albumin is synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin which has an N-terminal peptide that is removed before the nascent protein is released from the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The product, proalbumin, is in turn cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to produce the secreted albumin.
