the modulation of KRT19 expression could be involved in cancer stem cell reprogramming and drug sensitivity.
Data indicate that de novo expression of KRT7 (show KRT7 ELISA Kits) and KRT19 resulting in altered plasticity and stem cell characteristics of epithelial cells might be a crucial factor in increasing the risk of tumor development in end-stage kidneys.
High expression of CK-19 is associated with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
KRT19 intracellularly binds to HER2 (show ERBB2 ELISA Kits), playing a critical role in HER2 (show ERBB2 ELISA Kits) activation
The combined use of CK19 and CD56 (show NCAM1 ELISA Kits) is helpful in discriminating papillary thyroid carcinoma and its variants from other mimicking thyroid lesions.
YAP1 (show YAP1 ELISA Kits) activation was more commonly found in CCAs than in pure HCCs (show HCCS ELISA Kits). However, a differing pattern of YAP1 (show YAP1 ELISA Kits) expression between cHC-CCAs and CK19(+) HCCs (show HCCS ELISA Kits) and the poor prognosis of YAP1 (show YAP1 ELISA Kits) positive hepatic carcinomas suggests that YAP1 (show YAP1 ELISA Kits) may have a preferential role in aggressive tumor behavior, rather than in the determination of cellular lineage in hepatic carcinomas
Circulating tumor cells expressing cytokeratin and tumor-initiating cell markers, including ALDH, CD133, and CD44, were identified in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. These TIC-like CTCs were associated with poor prognosis after surgical resection and with an increased incidence of tumor recurrence
Aberrant decreased miR (show MLXIP ELISA Kits)-26a could promote cell proliferation by regulating KRT19 which plays important role in the pathogenesis of cholangiocarcinoma.
The detection of TK1 (show TK1 ELISA Kits) combined with that of cytokeratin-19 fragment (CYFRA21-1), CEA (show CEACAM5 ELISA Kits) or NSE (show ENO2 ELISA Kits) increased the diagnostic value of TK1 (show TK1 ELISA Kits) for lung squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and small cell lung cancer, respectively.
Our results are of special importance against the background that CK19 positive carcinomas revealed a significantly poorer prognosis and therefore emphasize its prognostic and possible diagnostic role in tongue cancer.
Cytokeratin-19 (CK-19)+ specific deletion of tumor suppressors p53 (show TP53 ELISA Kits) and Retinoblastoma (Rb) indicated that carcinomas at the injury site originates from cholangiocytes or liver progenitor cells.
Demonstrate that K19 plays an important role in the ductular reaction that constitutes the basic regenerative response to chronic liver injury.
Branched desmin (show DES ELISA Kits)-deficient (DKO) myofibers show significantly faster rates of calcium ion (Ca2 (show CA2 ELISA Kits)+) clearance, with milder branching phenotype observed in DKO muscle suggesting that absence of keratin-19 corrects the defect created by absence of desmin (show DES ELISA Kits) alone.
the structural response of each genotype is distinct, suggesting multiple mechanisms by which desmin and keratin influence the biomechanical properties of myofibers
The expression of CK19 and EGFR (show EGFR ELISA Kits) in lymphatic metastasis of laryngeal carcinoma was higher than in controls.
Results suggest that keratin filaments containing K19- and desmin (show DES ELISA Kits)-based intermediate filaments can play independent, complementary, or antagonistic roles in the physiology and morphology of fast-twitch skeletal muscle.
a dual mechanism of how PDX-1 (show PDX1 ELISA Kits) negatively regulates Krt19 ductal specific gene expression
expression of nestin (show NES ELISA Kits) and cytokeratin 19 is a normal property of embryonic stem cells preceding differentiation into C-peptide/insulin (show INS ELISA Kits)-producing cells without any selection for nestin (show NES ELISA Kits)-positive phenotypes
loss of the keratin cytoskeleton causes defects in the trophoblast giant cell layer
transduction of PDX1 (show PDX1 ELISA Kits) in primary pancreatic ductal cells suppresses K19 expression, and short interfering RNA to PDX1 (show PDX1 ELISA Kits) in Min6 insulinoma (show RPS15 ELISA Kits) cells and results in the induction of normally undetectable K19
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin family. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. The type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. Unlike its related family members, this smallest known acidic cytokeratin is not paired with a basic cytokeratin in epithelial cells. It is specifically expressed in the periderm, the transiently superficial layer that envelopes the developing epidermis. The type I cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12-q21.
