TEF encodes a member of the PAR (proline and acidic amino acid-rich) subfamily of basic region/leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factors.
Showing 7 out of 9 products:
TEF regulates light-induced transcription of DNA repair genes.
In Ccdc80(-/-) mice, expression of the core clock member Arntl/Bmal1 (show ARNTL Proteins) was reduced whereas that of the oscillating transcription factors Dbp (show GC Proteins) and Tef was increased in all tissues examined.
evidence of TEF regulation through a miR (show MLXIP Proteins)-125b-mediated pathway
Data show that S100a9 (show S100A9 Proteins), Mmp10 (show MMP10 Proteins) and Ang2 (show ANGPT2 Proteins) were among the most downregulated genes, whereas Per3, Tef and Prdx6 (show PRDX6 Proteins) were significantly upregulated in the DMH (show DST Proteins) + Calcium group.
we demonstrate that D site albumin promoter binding protein/thyrotroph embryonic factor/hepatic leukemia factor (show HLF Proteins) triple knockout mice develop cardiac hypertrophy and left ventricular dysfunction associated with a low blood pressure
TEF contributes to the activation of the telokin (show MYLK Proteins) promoter in smooth muscle cells in a calcium-dependent manner
mice deficient for all three PAR (show AFG3L2 Proteins) bZip proteins (DBP (show GC Proteins),HLF (show HLF Proteins),& TEF) are highly susceptible to generalized spontaneous and audiogenic epilepsies, frequently lethal. Pyridoxal kinase (show PDXK Proteins) is a target gene of PAR (show AFG3L2 Proteins) bZip proteins in both liver and brain
The Tef protein control the expression of many enzymes and regulators involved in detoxification and drug metabolism, such as cytochrome P450 enzymes, carboxylesterases, and constitutive androstane receptor (show NR1I3 Proteins) (CAR).
Data show that the clock knockout mice or mice devoid of dbp (show GC Proteins)/hlf (show HLF Proteins)/tef (triple knockout) exhibit significant changes in renal expression of several key regulators of water or sodium balance.
Resequencing three candidate genes (HOMER1 (show HOMER1 Proteins), SLC6A4 (show SLC6A4 Proteins), and TEF) discovers seven potentially deleterious variants susceptibility to major depressive disorder and suicide attempts in Chinese.
findings show the polymorphisms of Cry1 (show CRY1 Proteins) rs2287161 and Tef rs738499 are associated to major depressive disorder in the Chinese population
The polymorphism of Tef rs738499 is associated with depression symptoms in parkinson disease.
the TT genotype in Tef rs738499 is associated with sleep disturbances in Parkinson disease.
TEF-expressing cells accumulated in G(0)/G(1) phase without undergoing apoptosis.
This gene encodes a member of the PAR (proline and acidic amino acid-rich) subfamily of basic region/leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factors. It is expressed in a broad range of cells and tissues in adult animals, however, during embryonic development, TEF expression appears to be restricted to the developing anterior pituitary gland, coincident with the appearance of thyroid-stimulating hormone, beta (TSHB). Indeed, TEF can bind to, and transactivate the TSHB promoter. It shows homology (in the functional domains) with other members of the PAR-bZIP subfamily of transcription factors, which include albumin D box-binding protein (DBP), human hepatic leukemia factor (HLF) and chicken vitellogenin gene-binding protein (VBP)\; VBP is considered the chicken homologue of TEF. Different members of the subfamily can readily form heterodimers, and share DNA-binding, and transcriptional regulatory properties. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
