TFEC encodes a member of the micropthalmia (MiT) family of basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper transcription factors. Additionally we are shipping Transcription Factor EC Antibodies (72) and many more products for this protein.
Showing 9 out of 10 products:
The zebrafish genome contain two mitf (mitfa (show MITF Proteins) and mitfb (show MITF Proteins)), two tfe3 (show TFE3 Proteins) (tfe3a and tfe3b), and single tfeb (show TFEB Proteins) and tfec genes.
Data show that expression of Mitf (show MITF Proteins) rescues pigmentation fully in zebrafish, but only partially in Sox10 (show SOX10 Proteins)-mutant mice.
Two alternatively spliced TFEC isoforms have been found to be sequence-specific transcriptional activators of the nonmuscle myosin II heavy chain-A (show MYH9 Proteins) gene in transfected cells.
Tfec transcribes IL-4 receptor alpha (show IL4R Proteins) expression to promote M2 programming in macrophages
Data indicate that FOS, SPI1 (show SPI1 Proteins), KLF10, TFEC, and PRDM16 (show PRDM16 Proteins) show robust transcriptional cross-regulation and are often associated with osteoclastogenesis.
Transcription factor EC, along with several other transcription factors, is a Stat6 (show STAT6 Proteins)-dependent target of IL-4 (show IL4 Proteins).
This gene encodes a member of the micropthalmia (MiT) family of basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper transcription factors. MiT transcription factors regulate the expression of target genes by binding to E-box recognition sequences as homo- or heterodimers, and play roles in multiple cellular processes including survival, growth and differentiation. The encoded protein is a transcriptional activator of the nonmuscle myosin II heavy chain-A gene, and may also co-regulate target genes in osteoclasts as a heterodimer with micropthalmia-associated transcription factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.
