- GTF2E2 (General Transcription Factor IIE, Polypeptide 2 (GTF2E2))
-
Alternative Name
- GTF2E2 / TF2E2
-
Background
- GTF2E2 recruits TFIIH to the initiation complex and stimulates the RNA polymerase II C-terminal domain kinase and DNA-dependent ATPase activities of TFIIH. Both TFIIH and TFIIE are required for promoter clearance by RNA polymerase. GTF2E2 is a 291 amino acid protein of 33 kDa. Official protein name is Transcription initiation factor IIE subunit beta.Transcription initiation factor IIE subunit betaSynonyms: General transcription factor IIE subunit 2, TFIIE-beta, Transcription initiation factor IIE subunit beta
