More Proteins for Aldolase C, Fructose-Bisphosphate (ALDOC) Interaction Partners

Human Aldolase C, Fructose-Bisphosphate (ALDOC) interaction partners

  1. NME1 enhanced ALDOC transcription, evidenced by increased expression of ALDOC pre-mRNA and activity of an ALDOC promoter-luciferase module. This is the first study to indicate that NME1 induces transcription through its direct binding to the promoter region of a target gene.

  2. ALDOC, Aldolase A (ALDOA) and Aldolase B (ALDOB) activate Wnt signaling.

  3. residues 85-102 harbor the epitope-containing region recognized by MAb 9F

  4. This protein has been found differentially expressed in the anterior cingulate cortex in men patients with schizophrenia.

  5. Results identified fructose bisphospate aldolase C that showed elevated levels of protein carbonyls in inferior parietal lobule (IPL) from subjects with early stage-Alzheimer's disease.

  6. Diverse ALDOC promoter regions are required to direct specific LacZ expression in the hippocampus and Purkinje cells if transgenic mice.

  7. This protein has been found differentially expressed in the Wernicke's Area from patients with schizophrenia.

  8. This protein has been found differentially expressed in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex from patients with schizophrenia.

  9. This protein has been found differentially expressed in the temporal lobe from patients with schizophrenia.

Mouse (Murine) Aldolase C, Fructose-Bisphosphate (ALDOC) interaction partners

  1. In the Neurog2(-/-) mouse, in addition to the normal Purkinje cell expression, zebrin II is also expressed in a population of cells with a morphology characteristic of microglia. This identity was confirmed by double immunohistochemistry for zebrin II and the microglial marker, Iba1. The expression of zebrin II in cerebellar microglia is not restricted by zone or stripe or lamina.

  2. High levels of Aldoc expression in the retina and cerebellar Purkinje and cartwheel cells in the ventral cochlear nucleus, moderate expression levels in astrocytes, and a newly recognized expression in the inner ear and the dorsal root ganglion.

  3. Studies indicate that zebrin II expression is essential for enhancing understanding of the pathogenesis of hereditary cerebellar ataxic mutants.

  4. The selective regulation of AldC/zebrin may contribute to a shift in nutrient metabolism during pregnancy and lactation to facilitate epithelial growth and biosynthesis of milk constituents.

  5. A species difference between mouse and rat is found in both mRNA and protein expression of zebrin II/aldolase C in the cerebellum. There also appears to be a transition in expression that occurs in vivo between postnatal days 8 and 10.

  6. Aldolase C (EC 4.1.2.13) is a brain-specific aldolase isoform and a putative target of the transcription factor hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1

  7. the aldolase C compartments and olivocerebellar projection are organized according to a common fundamental organization in the mouse and rat

  8. The results from the present study indicate that aldolase C provides marked neuroprotection to PCs after trauma and excitotoxicity.

  9. Ebf2 regulates the expression of genes associated with the zebrin II+ Purkinje cell phenotype and that the zebrin II- Purkinje cell subtype is specified independently.

  10. Chronic morphine administration induces over-expression of Aldoc with reduction of CREB phosphorylation in the mouse hippocampus.

Aldolase C, Fructose-Bisphosphate (ALDOC) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene encodes a member of the class I fructose-biphosphate aldolase gene family. Expressed specifically in the hippocampus and Purkinje cells of the brain, the encoded protein is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the reversible aldol cleavage of fructose-1,6-biphosphate and fructose 1-phosphate to dihydroxyacetone phosphate and either glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate or glyceraldehyde, respectively.
