Zebrafish Ataxin 2-Binding Protein 1 (A2BP1) interaction partners

  1. This study underlines that tightly regulated splicing is necessary for unconstrained cardiac function and renders the splicing regulator rbfox1 an interesting target for investigation in human heart failure and cardiomyopathy.

Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (C. reinhardtii) Ataxin 2-Binding Protein 1 (A2BP1) interaction partners

  1. When the abundance of the FOX1 gene product is reduced, Chlamydomonas cells grow poorly in iron-deficient medium, but not in iron-replete medium, suggesting that FOX1-dependent iron uptake is a high-affinity pathway.

Human Ataxin 2-Binding Protein 1 (A2BP1) interaction partners

  1. Low RBFOX1 expression is associated with aberrant splicing in Type 1 diabetes.

  2. Data show that while RBFOX1 and RBFOX2 do not mediate neuron-specific processing of UBE3A-ATS, these proteins play important roles in developing neurons and are not completely functionally redundant.

  3. RBFOX1 - strong candidate gene, associated with clinical features of Depression (e.g., earlier age at onset and recurrent and more severe forms of Depression). Gene expression patterns in the prefrontal and anterior cingulate cortex most closely matched the genetic findings.

  4. Our findings suggested rs17648524 (intronic RBFOX1 gene) and rs7084402 (7.5kb 5' of the BICC1 gene) showed gender-specific associations with high myopia in the Han Chinese.

  5. Report a 1.8 A X-ray structure of the free Fox-1 containing six distinct monomers. We use this and the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) structure of the Fox-1 protein/RNA complex for molecular dynamics (MD) analyses of the structured hydration. The individual monomers of the X-ray structure show diverse hydration patterns, however, MD excellently reproduces the most occupied hydration sites.

  6. Copy-number variations are enriched for RBFOX1 and other neurodevelopmental genes in children with developmental coordination disorder.

  7. We present a joint atomistic molecular dynamics (MD) and experimental study of two RRM-containing proteins bound with their single-stranded target RNAs, namely the Fox-1 and SRSF1 (show SRSF1 ELISA Kits) complexes. The simulations predict unanticipated specific participation of Arg142 at the protein-RNA interface of the SRFS1 complex, which is subsequently confirmed by NMR and ITC measurements

  8. FGF12 (show FGF12 ELISA Kits), RBFOX1, and MIR302F could be important in human heterotaxy, because they were noted in multiple cases. Further investigation into genes involved in the NODAL, BMP, and WNT (show WNT2 ELISA Kits) body patterning pathways and into the dosage effects of FGF12 (show FGF12 ELISA Kits), RBFOX1, and MIR302F is warranted.

  9. Data indicate that multiple rare, coding variants in RBFOX1 protein associated with reduced systolic blood pressure (SBP (show SHBG ELISA Kits)).

  10. study identifies regulation of RNA splicing by RBFox1 as an important player in transcriptome reprogramming during heart failure that influence pathogenesis of the disease

Mouse (Murine) Ataxin 2-Binding Protein 1 (A2BP1) interaction partners

  1. Study shows that Rbfox1-isoform1 plays an important role in neuronal migration and synapse network formation during corticogenesis. Defects in these critical processes may induce structural and functional defects in cortical neurons, and consequently contribute to the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental disorders with RBFOX1 abnormalities.

  2. Upon picrotoxin treatment, Rbfox1 expression was downregulated by miR (show MLXIP ELISA Kits)-129-5p, thereby allowing the repression of Atp2b4 and Dcx (show DCX ELISA Kits).

  3. Cytoplasmic Rbfox1 target mRNAs were enriched in genes involved in cortical development and autism

  4. Gain- and loss-of-function experiments demonstrated that Rbfox1 and Rbfox2 (show RBM9 ELISA Kits) cooperate in promoting Mef2D (show MEF2D ELISA Kits) splicing and subsequent myogenesis.

  5. Rbfox1 regulates RNA splicing required for skeletal muscle structure and function.

  6. Fox-1, expressed specifically in the neural cell stage, promoted Mef2c (show MEF2C ELISA Kits) exon beta inclusion via the GCAUG.

  7. The results suggest that in neuronal tissues A2BP1 plays important roles, which are regulated in a spatiotemporal manner.

  8. our results suggest that a component of FSHD pathogenesis may arise by over-expression of FRG1, reducing Rbfox1 levels and leading to aberrant expression of an altered Calpain 3 (show CAPN3 ELISA Kits) protein through dysregulated splicing

  9. Fox-1 splices mRNAs encoding proteins important in synaptic transmission and membrane excitation.

  10. The splicing regulator Rbfox1 controls neuronal excitation in the mammalian brain.

Ataxin 2-Binding Protein 1 (A2BP1) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

The Fox-1 family of RNA-binding proteins is evolutionarily conserved, and regulates tissue-specific alternative splicing in metazoa. Fox-1 recognizes a (U)GCAUG stretch in regulated exons or in flanking introns. The protein binds to the C-terminus of ataxin-2 and may contribute to the restricted pathology of spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 (SCA2). Ataxin-2 is the product of the SCA2 gene which causes familial neurodegenerative diseases. Fox-1 and ataxin-2 are both localized in the trans-Golgi network. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
