The protein encoded by CNIH2 is an auxiliary subunit of the ionotropic glutamate receptor of the AMPA subtype. Additionally we are shipping Cornichon Homolog 2 (Drosophila) Proteins (6) and many more products for this protein.
Showing 10 out of 27 products:
Cornichon-2 and cornichon-3 dictate subunit-specific AMPA receptor trafficking and synaptic transmission.
Transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory proteins and cornichon-2 allosterically regulate AMPA receptor antagonists and potentiators.
Cornichon homolog 2 (CNIH-2) associates with TARP gamma-8 in hippocampus postsynaptic densities; CNIH-2 protein levels are diminished in transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory protein (TARP) gamma-8 knockout mice.
Significant upregulation of CNIH-2 mRNA expression was found in schizophrenia.
The protein encoded by this gene is an auxiliary subunit of the ionotropic glutamate receptor of the AMPA subtype. AMPA receptors mediate fast synaptic neurotransmission in the central nervous system. This protein has been reported to interact with the Type I AMPA receptor regulatory protein isoform gamma-8 to control assembly of hippocampal AMPA receptor complexes, thereby modulating receptor gating and pharmacology. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
